Wild predictions are wild for a reason: the likelihood of them coming true is slim to none. However, that is not always the case, and the Los Angeles Rams have been hit with one that would make sense.
During the team's offseason acquisitions, the Rams brought in former Washington Commanders offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury. After wanting to work with one another for a long time, Kingsbury can now learn and grow alongside Sean McVay.
Given the opportunity to be a part of a team that might be poised for a Super Bowl run in 2026, it would make sense that Kingsbury would remain in Los Angeles as an offensive consultant. However, a promotion could steal him away.
CBS Sports' Jordan Dajani offered 10 wild predictions for the 2026 offseason, naming the Rams in that list. According to his prediction, Kingsbury could leave the Rams and land the offensive coordinator position for the Seattle Seahawks.
Following the Super Bowl win, the Seahawks lost Klint Kubiak, who is now the head coach for the Las Vegas Raiders.
" After failing to secure a head-coaching gig or offensive coordinator job this offseason, Kliff Kingsbury is set to join the Los Angeles Rams' coaching staff, per ESPN. Or is he? Klint Kubiak is leaving the Seahawks to become the next head coach for the Las Vegas Raiders, which means the offensive coordinator job is open in Seattle. Our bold prediction is that Kingsbury leaves the Rams for their NFC West rival."
" Kingsbury spent the past two seasons as the offensive coordinator for the Washington Commanders before the two sides "mutually agreed to part ways." In 2024, Washington shocked the NFL world by going 12-5 thanks to a historic rookie season from Jayden Daniels. Kingsbury's unit ranked No. 7 in total offense, and No. 5 in scoring offense. However, the Commanders took a massive step backwards in 2025, finishing 5-12 and ranked 22nd in both total offense and scoring offense. Now, he will have the opportunity to oversee the offensive side of the ball for the reigning Super Bowl champions," Dajani wrote.
Kingsbury leaving the Rams for a chance to be the leader on offense for the reigning Super Bowl champions would make sense. A chance to also work with and elevate Sam Darnold might also be very alluring.
The issue is that the Rams also have Matthew Stafford, the reigning MVP. Los Angeles is poised to make a deep playoff run and could also be the next Super Bowl champions.
Would Kingsbury pass up a chance to work with McVay, Stafford, and more?
This might remain a wild prediction, despite a lot of what was stated making a lot of sense for Kingsbury.
