Breaking down the 2026 schedule a bit more, here is the best and worst from the Los Angeles Rams' upcoming slate.
The Los Angeles Rams have a stacked schedule ahead, as they look to go on another deep playoff run. With the 13th-hardest schedule in the league, they have some strong opponents, but others that are predicted to be "softer."
That said, there are some things about the schedule that will benefit the team, and some things that may be tough to deal with. Here are the best and worst aspects of the schedule for Los Angeles, in no particular order
Best - Seven Primetime Games
Seven primetime games. The Rams will be under the bright lights a staggering seven times in 2026, and four of those seven games will come within the first five weeks of the season.
Though there could be an argument made that having to play in primetime could lead to losses, there is also the excitement in the roar of the crowd during these games. Primetime has also been kind to the Rams, as they have gone 7-3 in their last 10 primetime outings.
Worst - Opening International Game
The Rams will not only have to travel internationally for their Week 1 matchup, but it will also be against their divisional rivals in the San Francisco 49ers. Travel alone can alter a team's performance in a big way, but to kick things off against a team that may have a say in playoff seeding and conference win is tough.
Los Angeles will want to start with a 1-0 record, but this matchup could go either way, given the nature of having to fly all the way to Australia.
Best - 'Softer' Mid-season Opponents
Considering the Rams' first five opponents, the next five might be the perfect chance to go on a run to set up a tail end of the season playoff push. The Arizona Cardinals, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Chargers, and Washington Commanders make up the mid-season matchups.
Of those four opponents, the Rams "should" have no problem beating the Cardinals and the Raiders. With Arizona being on the schedule twice, that could be a clean division sweep. The Chargers are the toughest of the bunch, and the Commanders remain a wild card.
This could lead to the Rams taking home at least three of the five victories.
Worst - Rams End-of-Season Gauntlet
The Rams may not have a worse final playoff stretch. Games against the Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, Seattle Seahawks, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers will test the team in a big way.
Even worse is that the Seahawks' games are in Weeks 16 and 18, pointing to the NFL potentially trying to manufacture a division race to end things.
Best- Week 11 BYE
The Rams not only have the benefit of a "softer" mid-season schedule, but they also get a BYE at just the right time. A late-season rest is what can help the players potentially rest their bodies and heal whatever ailments they may be dealing with.
It might also be a chance for players potentially hurt to get that extra week of rest to make a comeback. Considering the final opponents for the Rams, they will need to be plenty healthy to ensure they can make a run at the NFC Championship and Super Bowl.
