Los Angeles Rams star wide receiver Davante Adams believes Konata Mumpfield is ready to put the NFL on notice.
The Los Angeles Rams offense has mostly stayed intact, meaning it should be a top-tier unit again in 2026. While it is powered by the combination of Davante Adams and Puka Nacua, there are younger receivers who are waiting to emerge as the potential WR3 option.
One such option is Konata Mumpfield. While the young receiver did not make a huge mark in 2025, he has received a huge endorsement from Adams.
In a recent Instagram story by Adams, the 33-year-old shouted out Mumpfield in a big way.
Adams posted a story of Mumpfield’s locker and captioned the photo saying "THE TRUTH.... just wait."
Adams has already seen what Mumpfield can do, as the pair have worked with one another through OTAs and minicamp. Once the pads come on during training camp, the upcoming second-year passer can show his growth even more.
The 23-year-old showed flashes last season as a pass catcher, and perhaps more importantly, stayed healthy. The former Pittsburgh Panther standout appeared in all 17 games for the Rams, but his impact was limited due to a relatively small offensive role and low target volume.
Nonetheless, Adams believes in Mumpfield heading into the 2026 season. The Rams enter this season without a clear-cut WR3 after skipping on one with their 13th overall pick in this year’s draft.
Los Angeles had a chance to bolster that room with a number of highly touted prospects, but they chose to go with Ty Simpson, a quarterback who is slated to fill in for Stafford when he decides to call his career quits. The timeline of that is unclear.
That now puts a ton of pressure on the Rams' in-house wide receivers to step up aside from Nacua and Adams.
Mumpfield is certainly a name to be looking at in training camp and the preseason, as he has a great opportunity to establish himself as the WR3. While that is the case, he is facing some heavy competition involving Jordan Whittington, Xavier Smith, and rookie C.J. Daniels.
The edge that Mumpfield could have over the other three wide receivers is his technically refined route-running ability, as he is able to utilize his excellent short-area quickness and savviness to create separation.
The WR3 role for the Rams is the biggest question mark surrounding the team, and only time will tell if Mumpfield can establish himself in that role.
