The Los Angeles Rams have made multiple roster moves ahead of their Week 2 matchup against the New York Giants.
As the Los Angeles Rams prepare for their Week 2 matchup with the New York Giants, the Rams have made multiple roster moves.
The roster moves include signing safety Tanner Ingle from the practice squad to the active roster and signing defensive tackle Jaxson Moi to the practice squad, which are not major moves by any means, but could go a long way in helping with depth across the board.
With Ingle now elevated to the active roster, it does put into question the safety depth for next Monday night, so it will be interesting to see how much action he gets, whether it be on special teams or on defense.
For Moi, he has not been elevated to the active roster yet, but he could be at some point. However, that decision will very likely have to do with whether or not defensive tackle Aaron Donald is ready to play, as his return could happen very soon.
If Donald does not play in Week 2, it is possible that Moi is elevated to the active roster, but in the scenario that Donald does decide to make his return, it will be interesting to see what that means for Moi.
On the other hand, one of the biggest developments for the Rams has been the fact that star edge rusher Myles Garrett will be out for at least four games due to a knee issue he has been dealing with since training camp that has now required surgery.
With Garrett out of the lineup for the next four games, all eyes will be on whether or not Donald does come back. If Moi is elevated to the active roster, that could be a sign that Donald will take a bit more time to make his 2026 debut.
While Garrett being out for at least the next four games for the Rams is not ideal, the good news is that Los Angeles does get this Week 2 matchup with the Giants at home on Monday Night Football. That could help this team bounce back and have a have a much better overall performance.
The status of Donald will be one of the most important aspects of the roster, as he will be counted on to ensure the team generates more than enough pass rush on Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart. Considering the Rams failed to do with San Franciso 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy, they need to fix that element of their defense, or they could fall to 0-2 on the season.
