Baltimore Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta spoke to the media, and here are the biggest hits from his expansive availability.

Baltimore Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta took to the podium for the first time since the team secured its 53-man roster.

During the talk, DeCosta spoke about a great deal of subjects, including getting deal done with quarterback Lamar Jackson, the potential suspension for Rashod Bateman, and much more.

Here are the biggest hits from DeCosta's media availability:

- DeCosta is "optimistic" that he can get a deal done with Jackson ahead of March.

- Having a strong relationship with head Jesse Minter and the coaching staff has been very valuable for creating the current 53-man roster.

-Injuries played a part in keeping more defensive linemen and cornerbacks.

-Signing kicker Jake Moody was necessary, and this is a "performance-based business," so improving the kicking game needs to happen with Tyler Loop's struggles in preseason.

-Randy Brown was integral in bringing in Moody.

-Namdi Madubuike is in a great place, and DeCosta expects the Ravens defensive lineman will be back on the field within the first four games.

-The ongoing legal matter and potential suspension of wide receiver Rashod Bateman are still unknown. DeCosta and the Ravens are awaiting the decision from both the authorities and the league.

-There is excitement for the offensive line, and new offensive line coach Dwayne Ledford has done a great job getting the unit ready.

-Ja'Kobi Lane continues to impress from his tape to "making plays" throughout the offseason program. DeCosta "loves" his attitude.

-The hold up for a contract with Jackson is not about guaranteed money, and DeCosta feels that the "market is the market" when it comes to paying players.

-DeCosta is highly impressed with how Minter and the entire coaching staff have handled this 2026 offseason.

-Marlon Humphrey is expected to have a rebound year, and his performance may mean bigger things for his new contract.

-Calais Campbell is one of DeCosta's "favorites," and he attempted to trade for the defensive lineman three or four times. Amazing leadership and play.

-Joe Fagnano is the "Cinderella Man." Nobody expected him to make the team, and DeCosta fielded many trade calls, but did not let the UDFA quarterback out of the building for his "high-level" play.

-Trey Hendrickson has "brought it" when the lights come on. The excitement for the edge rusher is very high.

-Minter's ability to bounce around and juggle many things has heavily impressed DeCosta.

-Mike Green continues to be a "sponge" and asks DeCosta for some feedback to get better.

-DeCosta says the cap is in a "good spot" and hinted at potentially making some moves down the line if needed, especially with injuries.

-Declan Doyle being called a "wizard" makes sense cause he is "smart and detailed," and "focused and committed to doing things the right way."

-Trading players is never fun, and losing C.J. Okoye was "hard."

-Ravens have had 23 players claimed in last 10 years, pointing to the roster building skills.

-DeCosta will continue to have communication with Jackson on a new deal.
