The Baltimore Ravens and John Harbaugh are parting ways.

In a very shocking development, it has been reported that Batlimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh and the organization have agreed to mutually part ways. This ends the second longest tenure for a head coach in the NFL, as Harbaugh took over as head coach in 2008.

Per reports, days of discussion between Harbaugh and the team led to his exit. Now, Baltimore will be among the top destinations for this huge hiring cycle.

There were plenty of reports and rumors that Harbaugh's job security could be in peril, as the Ravens experienced a rough 2025 season. Despite those rumors, many believed that the only way Harbaugh would leave the team is if he agreed to do so.

That appears to be the case, as Harbaugh's time with the Ravens is finished after 18 seasons as head coach.

Harbaugh ends his time with the Ravens with an 180-113 overall record, which includes a Super Bowl win and 12 playoff berths.

What will be interesting is whether or not Harbaugh will jump back immediately into being a head coach, or if he will take some time off.

It would make sense for Harbaugh to potentially take a year off to consult for another team, or simply have a well-deserved vacation. He would then be the top candidate for a head coaching position in 2026, should a team decide to move on from their head coach.

To be fair, most teams would immediately consider Harbaugh if that feeling was mutual.

With Harbaugh out, the Ravens now join the New York Giants, Tennessee Titans, Atlanta Falcons, Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland Browns, and Las Vegas Raiders as teams that need a head coach.

Conversely, Harbaugh might now become the target of every single one of those teams. Interview requests have been piling in the last couple of days, and this could completely change the makeup of every team's pursuit.

Harbaugh is a proven winner and a no-nonsense coach who helped to turn the Ravens franchise around.

In terms of available head coaching jobs, Harbaugh will presumably get to pick which team he goes to.
