Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken has reportedly received an interview request from the Cleveland Browns.
Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken has been requested to be interviewed by the Cleveland Browns.
Per a report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Monken has received an interview request from his former team.
Rapoport indicated the Browns have requested to interview him for their head coach position, and that Monken should receive multiple other interview requests.
Monken has over 36 years of experience in coaching from the collegiate level to the NFL. His first gig at the professional level was serving as the wide receivers coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2007 to 2010.
After returning to the collegiate level, Monken returned to the NFL as the offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Monken has bounced around between the NFL and college, but he did serve as the offensive coordinator for the Browns during the 2019 season.
Monken has been responsible for helping turn the Ravens offense around, as the 2023 and 2024 seasons saw the run game and Lamar Jackson play some good football. However, the 2025 season was rife with struggles.
There have been reports that the Ravens would consider coordinator changes after the 2025 season did not go as planned. What hasn't been established is that report, or if it pertains to Monken or defensive coordinator Zach Orr.
Much like Monken, Orr experienced struggles. Both sides of the ball had their clear issues with injuries, like Jackson missing multiple games.
Should Monken interview and land a head coaching position elsewhere, that could jumpstart the Ravens' changes that may help the team in the long run.
There is no guarantee that Monken would land a head coaching position, as he has never served in that role at the NFL level. Still, he is one of the most respected coaches in the league.
The Browns, Arizona Cardinals, New York Giants, Atlanta Falcons, Tennessee Titans, and Las Vegas Raiders are all without a head coach.
Some, most, or all could give Monken a call to interview. So far, the Browns have reportedly made the first move. Considering Monken's familiarity with the organization as a coach and rival, it could end up being a good hire for both parties.
