Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet praised Decland Doyle and revealed a major benefit of the coaching from the new Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator.

The Chicago Bears were a strong offense in 2025, and that had a lot to do with offensive coordinator Declan Doyle. Despite head coach Ben Johnson calling plays, Doyle was instrumental in a certain category.

Doyle is now the Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator and has been viewed by many as a big hire for Jesse Minter's staff. In fact, Bears tight end Cole Kmet praised the former Bears offensive coordinator, breaking down how his coaching made him special.

Kmet joined 104.3 The Score to talk about the loss of Doyle, revealing that it was tough to deal with.

Kmet called losing Doyle to the Ravens a "huge loss."

"Even though Declan doesn't call the play for us, the amount of work he did on the offensive side of the football was immense," Kmet said.

On top of his playcalling on offense, Kmet revealed that Doyle handled a lot of halftime adjustments that helped the Bears offense in a big way.

"Declan was very hands-on with all of us. Declan's the one addressing the offense at halftime, kind of going over the openers that are going to be coming up in the second half. Telling us what we need to do, what they're seeing, and how we can make adjustments," Kmet said.

The fact that Doyle was instrumental in halftime adjustments will be huge for the Ravens, especially due to the offense oftentimes either starting slow or ending the game slowly.

Baltimore needs the offense to stay consistent through four quarters, and that was definitely an issue in 2025.

With Doyle coming on as offensive coordinator, he will be the main driving force for Lamar Jackson. Jackson's game needs to take that next step, even though he has been quite elite in his young career.

Injuries became a strong factor for Jackson and the Ravens team as a whole. With a roster rebuild targeting those second and third-tier players, the Baltimore offense should be able to withstand injuries in 2026.

Doyle will need to maximize all of the players on the roster and ensure that the offense returns to one that struck fear in opposing defenses.

Clearly, Doyle's football intelligence led to his landing the offensive coordinator position with the Ravens. Now, it will be up to his intelligence to help the team navigate its issues and rebound in a big way in 2026.
