The Baltimore Ravens brought in several UDFAs, but offensive tackle Diego Pounds might make a strong case to land a spot on the roster.

The Baltimore Ravens signed a staggering 19 UDFAs (undrafted free agents), and all will be vying for a spot on the 53-man roster or practice squad. It is generally a lot harder for these players to land coveted spots on a team, but there are often hidden gems within the signees.

One such potential gem is Mississippi offensive tackle Diego Pounds. Per Clifton Brown of baltimoreravens.com, the college prospect could find himself on the roster if he showcases some strong skills during training camp.

"An undrafted rookie to watch is offensive tackle Diego Pounds, who participated in rookie minicamp. Pounds was a two-year starter at left tackle for Ole Miss, and the depth chart behind Pro Bowl left tackle Ronnie Stanley isn't solidified. Pounds has a chance to state his case," Clifton wrote.

As Clifton alluded to, beyond Ronnie Stanley, there are some sizable depth concerns for the Ravens. The two clear backup tackles are Gerad Lichtenhan and Carson Vinson, but there is far more that is needed.

Stanley also experienced some injury issues in 2025, and he missed one game due to his ailments. Missing one game is not a big deal, but when the Ravens experienced a rough 2025 season due to multiple injured starters, missing any games is detrimental to trying to make the playoffs.

Pounds was not only a two-year starter for Ole Miss, but he was also solid as a blocker. Per Pro Football Focus, he committed two penalties but gave up no sacks in 2025. He also allowed 13 pressures, which isn't ideal, but can be worked on.

More impressive is that Pounds also played 941 snaps, which ranks him seventh among college tackles. Having durable options can only benefit the Ravens, especially if there are injuries on the line.

Baltimore cannot afford another season like 2025, and the team made strides to ensure they don't make the same mistakes. A new vice president of health and performance was brought in, former rugby doctor, Dr. Nic Gill. He will be responsible for getting the team back on the right track, health-wise.

The next step in ensuring that the same issues do not hamper the team is by bringing in depth players in case of injury. Granted, there is a chance that the majority of the 19 UDFAs are not brought onto the roster, but Pounds is among those who can carve out a role if he shows that he can handle having a roster spot.

Baltimore might also choose to bring along some talent like Pounds or other players who show they can be molded. Once on the practice squad, the team can at least start to turn developmental players into full fledged starting potentials.
