Baltimore Ravens receiver Elijah Sarratt revealed he received advice from fan-favorite legend Anquan Boldin.
There might not be a more recognizable Baltimore Ravens name than Anquan Boldin. The former receiver spent the 2010 to 2012 seasons with the team, helping them to secure a Super Bowl victory.
Boldin has stayed around football and was revealed to have given advice to rookie Ravens receiver Elijah Sarratt. Sarratt admitted that they got to speak during his NFL Combine training, which led to a conversation about contested catches and more.
"Anquan Boldin, man, I like him a lot. We're kind of similar in body frames a little bit. I got a chance to talk to him back when I was training for the combine and I was just asking him about contested plays, you know, releases and stuff like that. And it was great talking to him," Sarratt said.
Sarrat joined "The Lounge" podcast to talk about his journey thus far, when host Ryan Mink indicated that the rookie receiver has a similar frame and reminds him of Boldin. That is when the rookie revealed he got advice from the Baltimore Super Bowl champion.
"He's a dog, man. Like, and you could tell he just his attitude talking to me one-on-one, man. It's like he you could tell he really loves the game still and that he's a dog for sure," Sarratt said.
Sarratt can have a great career if he emerges as a pass catcher similar to Boldin. The former Ravens receiver not only secured 921 yards and four touchdowns during the Super Bowl run in 2012, but he was also instrumental during the postseason, picking up 380 yards and four touchdowns.
Sarratt has some big shoes to fill if that is the case, but he will also get a chance to show what he can do, as head coach Jesse Minter indicated that one of the rookie receivers would get a "huge opportunity." The other being USC's Ja'Kobi Lane.
Sarratt indicated that he is very appreciative of getting an opportunity and being recognized by Minter, but understands that what he did previously to arriving in the NFL does not matter.
The rookie receiver is a national champion, having played on the Indiana Hoosiers in 2025, when they won the title. During that season, Sarratt secured 830 yards and 15 touchdowns, which led the FBS.
Regardless, Sarratt spoke about being at "ground zero" and needing to prove himself to the Ravens organization and offense that he can be trusted with a bigger opportunity.
