The Baltimore Ravens have lost veteran edge rusher and defensive lineman Dre'Mont Jones.
Jones has agreed to a deal with the New England Patriots.
NFL insider Ian Rapoport shared the news via X.
Jones will sign a three-year, $39.5 million deal with the reigning AFC champions.
The 29-year-old is coming off a strong 2025 season. He spent last season with the Tennessee Titans and the Ravens. He started the season with the Titans, where he played in nine games and recorded 26 total tackles, 4.5 sacks, five tackles for loss, and nine quarterback hits.
Prior to the trade deadline, the Ravens acquired Jones from the Titans in exchange for a conditional fifth-round pick. He continued to ride that wave in Baltimore. In nine games with eight starts, Jones recorded 17 total tackles, two tackles for loss, 15 quarterback hits, and one pass defended.
While Jones is a great talent, his addition to the team was not a big difference maker. The Ravens were marred with injuries and inconsistent play on both sides of the ball. The defensive side of the ball was far from their strong suit in 2025, as they finished 18th in points allowed (23.4), 24th in yards allowed (354.5), 22nd in yards per play allowed (5.5), and 13th in touchdowns allowed.
The unit struggled with a consistent pass rush, recording only 30 sacks, while key individual stats included Roquan Smith’s 130 tackles and Marlon Humphrey’s four interceptions.
Although the team lost Jones, they acquired one of the better pass rushers in the NFL today, All-Pro Maxx Crosby. The team traded for Crosby on Friday, immediately transforming and improving that area for the Ravens.
Crosby was a major addition for the team, as they are poised to become a juggernaut once again. The 28-year-old is beyond excited to become a Raven, as he stated after he got traded to Baltimore.
"Flock nation, everybody in the whole city of Baltimore, I've got a lot to learn," Crosby said. "Everything is going to be new to me, and I'm excited and tackling this head-on like I do everything else. Fans there, I'm not going to sit here and make a bunch of grand predictions or anything of that nature. I'm going there with one purpose, and that's to help this team to get to where it needs to be, and that's where everybody wants to go, and that's winning the Super Bowl."
They lose a solid pass rusher in Jones, but acquire one of the best in Crosby.
