Ravens' Best NFL Offseason Move Has Been Revealed

The Baltimore Ravens made some nice offseason moves, but one stands out among the rest.

Entering the 2026 NFL season, the Baltimore Ravens will have high hopes and expectations. On paper, they have the talent to compete for a Super Bowl run.

John Harbaugh is no longer leading the charge for the Ravens. After missing the playoffs last season, the team decided to part ways with him. They brought in Jesse Minter to replace him.

The front office made some nice additions to the roster this offseason as well. Trey Hendrickson was the biggest splash move in free agency. His signing came after Baltimore decided to back out of the trade for Maxx Crosby with the Raiders.

However, there is another move gaining praise as the Ravens' best offseason move.

ESPN analyst Bill Barnwell has named Baltimore's signing of veteran defensive lineman Calais Campbell as its best move this offseason.

"Defenses can stretch him at times when they force the 39-year-old to move laterally, but Campbell is a threat to get into the backfield on any passing down," Barnwell wrote.

"That's a really valuable player to have in your rotation for $5 million, and Campbell offers good support if Nnamdi Madubuike isn't able to start the season on the active roster."

Campbell is still one of the best in the NFL at what he does. He has a history with the Ravens and will be looking to replicate the same success that he had during his first tenure with the franchise.

Last season, the 39-year-old played in all 17 regular season games for the Arizona Cardinals. He racked up 43 total tackles to go along with 6.5 sacks and two defended passes.

Throughout his entire 278-game NFL career, Campbell has totaled 960 tackles, 117 sacks, 18 forced fumbles, 13 fumble recoveries, three interceptions, and 65 defended passes.

For many years, Campbell has been a consistent playmaker on the defensive side of the football. Even as his career winds down, he has remained a high-end player.

Hopefully, the Ravens get a good season from the longtime star. Barnwell is clearly high on the move, naming Campbell the team's best offseason moves even over the signing of star pass rusher Hendrickson.
