The Baltimore Ravens are signing veteran wide receiver Chris Moore.

The Ravens brought in Moore for a tryout on Friday per the league’s personnel notice and signed him to a deal shortly after. The former Baltimore pass catcher was one of seven players who tried out on Friday, and he was one of four receivers on that list.

Baltimore adds yet another wide receiver to their crowded room that consists of Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman, Ja’Kobi Lane, Elijah Sarratt and Devontez Walker, to name a few.

The Ravens drafted Moore in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft with the 107th overall pick. He spent four seasons at the University of Cincinnati from 2011 to 2015.

Moore spent the first five seasons of his career with the Ravens. In those five seasons, Moore recorded 47 receptions, 511 receiving yards, four touchdowns and averaged 10.9 yards per reception in 61 games and five starts.

After his first four seasons, Moore re-signed with the Ravens on a one-year deal; however, that season did not go as planned.

The 33-year-old was limited to three games in 2020, and he did not record a stat as he was placed on the injured reserve in early November. He appeared in one postseason game in 2020.

For the most part, Moore was limited in his time in Baltimore.

After the 2020 season, Moore signed a one-year contract with the Houston Texans and ultimately spent the 2021 and 2022 seasons with the team. In 28 games with eight starts, Moore recorded 69 receptions, 775 receiving yards and four touchdowns.

Moore averaged 11.2 yards per reception and 27.7 yards per game.

From then on, Moore has been a journeyman, joining the Tennessee Titans, Arizona Cardinals and Washington Commanders.

In 2025, Moore played in 14 games for the Commanders. In those contests, the former Bearcat recorded 11 receptions on 23 targets, 207 yards, one touchdown, and averaged 18.8 yards per reception.

It’s unclear what type of role Moore will play as the six aforementioned wide receivers will likely be ahead of them.

Nonetheless, he will be given a fair shot to prove himself during training camp and possibly the preseason.

The Ravens will commence training camp on July 28 and will run through August 17. Baltimore will have three preseason games before the start of the 2026 season.

Their first contest will be on Saturday, August 15, against the Philadelphia Eagles. In the next two weeks, they will take on the Minnesota Vikings and the Commanders, with the final contest on Friday, August 28.

The Ravens will have a better understanding if Moore is the right fit for the team by then.
