Ravens bring in reported new quarterbacks coach to replace Tee Martin

As is the case for most regime changes, there are often longtime and respected coaches who are forced to move on. That is the case for Baltimore Ravens quarterbacks coach Tee Martin.

Martin served as the wide receivers coach from 2021 to 2022 and transitioned into being the quarterbacks coach from 2023 to 2025. Now, the Ravens have moved on by reportedly hiring former Arizona Cardinals quarterbacks coach Israel Woolfork.

NFL insider Adam Shefter reported on the hiring, stating:

"Cardinals QB coach Israel Woolfork now will be the QB coach for the Ravens, per source. Woolfork interviewed for the Tampa OC job, and also was blocked several times from other openings, before being allowed to pursue other opportunities that resulted in him landing in Baltimore."

Woolfork appears to be a well-respected coach, as he was up for the offensive coordinator position with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and also was blocked from other openings. However, he has a tall task ahead.

Jesse Minter clearly wanted his own staff, which is the case for most new head coaches. The challenge then becomes how Woolfork can help guide and elevate Lamar Jackson.

Apart from 2025, Jackson has played at an elite level. That was in large part due to Martin and Todd Monken.

Now, the Ravens have moved on from Martin and Monken, bringing in former Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Declan Doyle.

Doyle and Woolfork will be chiefly responsible for helping to elevate Jackson and get him to the next level of his play.

The concern rests with Jackson having worked with Martin over the past three seasons. This does not mean that Woolfork will not be a good coach, but big changes such as this might need time to settle.

Jackson and the offense stumbled a bit in 2025, but that was due to the injuries to the unit. This includes the signal caller, who dealt with a multitude of ailments throughout the regular season.

With a fresh start in 2026, the offense will need to evolve. There is a lot of responsibility on the shoulders of Doyle and his new staff on offense. 

The hope for the Ravens is that Doyle's new offense will do just that, along with Woolfork being able to connect with Jackson to get him over the hump of 2025.
