The Baltimore Ravens are casting a wide net in their head coach search, increasing their interviews to 13 official candidates.

When Baltimore Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti stated the team would be on the hunt for the next John Harbaugh, he clearly meant it.

Considering the wealth of candidates in this current head coach hiring cycle, it is not shocking that the Ravens are doing their due diligence.

As of Saturday morning, the Ravens have now interviewed their 13th potential head coach candidate in Los Angeles Rams passing game coordinator, Nathan Scheelhaase.

With the Scheelhaase interview completed, that makes 13 head coach candidates formally interviewed thus far.

The full list of candidates interviewed is:

Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph

Broncos pass game coordinator Davis Webb

Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak

Ex-Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski

Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy

Ex-Washington Commanders offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury

Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver

Browns defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz

Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores

Los Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter

Ex-Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel

Rams defensive coordinator Chris Shula.

Still to be interviewed are Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady and San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh.

With both of those interviews scheduled to happen, the Ravens would have interviewed a total of 15 candidates. There could be even more added to the list in the coming days.

Bisciotti did indicate that the list of candidates will be whittled down to around eight, and then five finalists. At which point the five will be presented to him by general manager Eric DeCosta and the selection committee.

Quarterback Lamar Jackson is also expected to sit in on the interviews for the final five candidates. Despite having a say, Bisciotti also indicated that the choice will remain his.

With the next head coach for the Ravens only being the fourth in franchise history, the organization is taking its time to decide who is right. Understanding the culture of the franchise is also important, as Bisciotti stated in his press conference.

Whoever the next head coach is for the team needs to have Jackson in mind. This person, whether or not they are defensive or offensive-minded, needs to either find the right offensive coordinator or be the kind of coach that can help elevate the Ravens' MVP to the next level.

Jackson has played at an elite level in his career, but the 2025 season saw him suffer multiple injuries that derailed the season. Even before that, he struggled to play up to that same level in the playoffs.

The Ravens still have the kind of roster to compete, but they will need to take some bigger swings in free agency and land the right coach who helps guide Jackson and the team to a Super Bowl appearance.
