Ravens complete fifth HC interview with Chiefs OC Matt Nagy cover image

The Baltimore Ravens have completed their fifth interview for their new head coach, this time with Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy.

The Baltimore Ravens are staying busy with their head coach search, as the team has announced they have completed their fifth interview. This time, Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy has completed potentially his first interview with the team.

With the interview with Nagy being completed, this brings the grand total for the Ravens to five potential candidates thus far.

Before Nagy, the Ravens completed interviews with Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph, Broncos quarterback coach and pass game coordinator Davis Webb, Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, and former Cleveland Browns Kevin Stefanski.

Despite having interviewed five potentials, the Ravens still have a wealth of interviews to complete.

Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver, former Washington Commanders Kliff Kingsbury, San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, Los Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter, Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady, and Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores are also on deck.

Much like the other teams searching for a head coach, the Ravens can take their time this time around. This is due to the huge number of qualified candidates in this hiring cycle.

No team will likely be in a rush to hire a new head coach, due to all of the coordinators and former head coaches who are available. The Ravens might also look into Mike McCarthy.

Either way, Baltimore will be on the lookout for the right candidate. Especially one that can not only guide the team past the hump of the playoffs, but also bring the best out of Lamar Jackson.

Jackson continues to play at the MVP level, despite the 2025 season, which saw him hit with a multitude of injuries. That said, the signal caller's performance in the postseason previously has not been the best.

Jackson has 1,753 yards, 10 touchdowns, seven interceptions, and an 84.6 passer rating in eight playoff games. The Ravens have yet to make it to the Super Bowl, despite having a solid roster.

This was likely the main reason the team moved on from John Harbaugh. Whoever this next head coach is, they will need to succeed where Harbaugh failed. That starts with getting the Ravens back to the playoffs and into a Super Bowl.

Jackson may have two MVP awards, but he has yet to play in a Super Bowl. That is a big issue considering he is not getting any younger, and his NFL career will not last forever.
