The Baltimore Ravens have a chance to bolster their secondary by selecting All-American cornerback, Jermod McCoy, in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft.

The Baltimore Ravens have a great chance to bolster their secondary in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft. The Ravens hold the No. 14 overall pick, and while they have a handful of needs, cornerback falls under that category.

It may not be their biggest need, but if they decide to go that route, Tennessee All-American cornerback Jermod McCoy would be a great fit for Baltimore.

McCoy has been mocked to be an early first-round pick, and there is a chance he could fall to 14 with the Ravens.

The Ravens have a ton of needs on their roster, and cornerback is among them. McCoy would be an ideal fit for the Ravens, as he ranks among the top lockdown cornerbacks in the draft. His ability to shut down receivers is virtually unmatched.

McCoy has elite press‑man coverage and limited separation from the top wide receivers in the college game. On top of that, he consistently mirrors routes, reroutes receivers at the line, and forces tough throws.

These are traits that Baltimore – or any team – values highly in shutting down opposing passing games.

Other traits that the Ravens could benefit from in selecting McCoy are his physical traits and ball skills. His size, standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 188 pounds, makes him an intimidating and imposing threat in the secondary.

His wingspan and movement skills take him from a good cornerback prospect to a great one. McCoy has a strong history of interceptions and pass breakups, showing he’s a true playmaker rather than just a “sticky cover guy.” Baltimore could use another elite corner to pair alongside All-Pro Marlon Humphrey.

On top of that, McCoy's style of play is complementary to the Ravens' traditional defensive philophy which is to limit opportunities deep and let the front seven rush the passer or make plays on shorter targets. That's where their newest addition, Trey Hendrickson, comes into play.

While he has all the tools to be an elite cornerback in the NFL one day, injuries are also a concern. The Tennessee corner suffered a torn ACL in January 2025, which caused him to miss the entire 2025 season.

However, he's proven that it's all behind him. McCoy has shown that he is in tip-top shape, running a 4.38 at Tennessee's Pro Day last month.

In his last healthy season, McCoy recorded 44 total tackles, four interceptions, which he returned for 71 yards, along with nine passes defended and 0.5 tackles for loss in 13 games in 2024.
