The Baltimore Ravens could explore adding multiple tight ends in the coming weeks.
Baltimore Ravens executive president and general manager Eric DeCosta made one thing clear: the team needs to bolster the tight end room.
In a recent press conference ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft, DeCosta said that one of the goals for the Ravens is to add multiple tight ends in the coming weeks. With a room that was decimated by free agent losses, it would make sense for the front office to target the position either in the draft or to explore more free agent possibilities.
"You got some guys that can go high," DeCosta said. "But then, as you get into the fourth, fifth, and sixth rounds, we see guys that do something well. When you get into those rounds, that's what you're looking for. They are going to have some type of hole, but what do they do well? I think there's a strong chance we'll add a couple more throughout, for sure."
The Ravens have been no strangers to loading up the tight end room. More recently, Baltimore did so in 2022 when they drafted Charlie Kolar and Isaiah Likely in the fourth round.
Likely and Kolar have now left for new teams in 2026.
While the Ravens desperately need a tight end, selecting a pass catcher with the 14th pick would seem like a reach given the team's other dire needs, like offensive line.
The losses of Likely and Kolar were detrimental as Baltimore not only lost depth, but it also changed the shape of their offense. Both were used in situational and rotational schemes, with Likely seeing far more snaps.
Likely was a hybrid weapon as he lined up everywhere with the Ravens. They had him in the slot, wing, and even outside at times. His versatility gave Lamar Jackson a middle-of-the-field target.
As for Kolar, he was in the trenches with the offensive line. His best trait was being an in-line blocker first, as he handled the dirty work and was a structural piece that made everything else work.
Now, the Ravens could go a multitude of ways when it comes to the type of tight end they want. Since they'll go after multiple tight ends, Baltimore could draft Likely and Kolar replacements.
Another option is one down the middle, a tight end who is a little bit of both. One who can stabilize the running game, but also be a weapon for Jackson.
