The first injury report for the Baltimore Ravens contains a few surprises.
The Baltimore Ravens are looking for a big bounce-back win against the Cincinnati Bengals, but they will be doing so with some injuries to key players. The team's first injury report for Week 15 contains multiple surprises.
One of the biggest aspects of the injury reports since Week 11 has been Lamar Jackson appearing on them, and also missing practice at least once.
That is the case for Week 15, as Jackson has missed practice again on Wednesday. The good news is the injury report indicates that it is only rest, and "not injury related."
Apart from Jackson's frequent day off, the injury report also brings in some big surprises.
For starters, running back Keaton Mitchell returned to practice on Wednesday after suffering a knee injury. He was limited, but all signs currently point to him being available to play.
Linebacker Tavius Robinson was also limited due to his foot injury. Last week, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh indicated that Robinson would not be activated, and he may not be activated this week either, assuming he remains limited.
A bigger and more pleasant surprise has to do with safety Ar'Darius Washington. Washington had a much stronger chance to play in Week 14, with Harbaugh initially stating he was far more along than Robinson.
Despite the vote of confidence, Washington was also ruled out ahead of the matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, he was a full participant on Wednesday, which is a good sign that he will return on Sunday.
Nate Wiggins has also emerged as a limited participant on the injury report, though there is likely less of a concern about his status for the Bengals game.
The only other concern is Chidobe Awuzie. He missed practice due to a shoulder injury.
Though there are some concerns on the first injury report, mainly surrounding Awuzie and Robinson, both can be upgraded at any time.
That could be the case for most of the players on the current injury report. Apart from some players potentially not making it back to play, like Robinson, the Ravens look to have a full squad ready to go.
There is a tall task ahead with the Bengals attempting to play season ruiner for the Ravens. Divisional matchups are always tough, but Baltimore needs a win to keep their postseason hopes alive.
