It has been announced that the Baltimore Ravens have backed out of their trade with the Las Vegas Raiders for Maxx Crosby.

In one of the most stunning developments, it has been announced that the Baltimore Ravens have backed out of the trade with the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Raiders released a statement that reads:

"The Baltimore Ravens have backed out of our trade agreement for Maxx Crosby. WE will have no further comment at this time."

There is set to be some huge fallout from this trade falling through, especially due to the spending that the Raiders have already engaged in. Though the details of the trade falling through have not been corroborated, the reasoning is reportedly due to a failed physical.

NFL insider Dianna Russini indicated as much on X.

"Maxx Crosby did not pass his physical today, per sources.

"The Ravens get their first-round picks back," Russini wrote on X.

Crosby was dealt to the Ravens for the No. 14 overall pick in 2026 and the Ravens' 2027 first-round pick. Now, those picks will revert back to Baltimore.

The Ravens also losing Crosby will effectively wipe out any big-name player the team has acquired thus far in this wild free agency.

A total of eight pending free agents have now left the Ravens team since the start of the legal tampering period.

Center Tyler Linderbaum, tight end Isaiah Likely, linebacker Dre'Mont Jones, tight end Charlie Kolar, punter Jordan Stout, safeties Alohi Gilman and Ar'Darius Washington, and fullback Patrick Ricard are now on other teams.

With the Crosby trade falling through, the Ravens have only signed Tyler Huntley to a two-year deal and landed John Simpson on a three-year deal.

The good news for the Ravens is that having back their two first-round picks could mean they can recoup some of their already staggering free agent losses.

There is also former Cincinnati Bengals pass rusher Trey Hendrickson, who could be the right kind of player to rebound from losing a star like Crosby.

Crosby had also reportedly been in Baltimore over the past few days getting a look at his new facility and team, but with the trade falling through, he will likely return to Las Vegas.

There are more details that will come out about this, but this could arguably go down as one of the biggest failed trades in sports history.
