The Baltimore Ravens are reportedly bringing back kicker Jake Moody to the practice squad amid the struggles of Tyler Loop.
The Baltimore Ravens dropped a close game to the rival Cleveland Browns, as the final score was 13-10. That may not have been the case had Tyler Loop not missed a crucial field goal in the fourth quarter.
Despite some big moments, Loop is currently kicking at a 76.9 accuracy. He has missed three kicks, and the Ravens have reportedly brought back Jake Moody, per NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
Moody was brought in during training camp when Loop began to struggle in preseason. Despite the signing, Baltimore would release Moody when the regular season began.
Loop took the addition of a kicker seriously and began to knock in most of his kicks. Now, the Ravens are looking to correct the accuracy issues yet again.
During media availability on Monday, Ravens head coach Jesse Minter compared missing kicks in the second half to turnovers. Clearly, the coach was frustrated with how things transpired in Week 6.
Moody played for three different teams during the 2025 season. After going 1-3 in one game for the San Francisco 49ers, he was waived and signed with the Chicago Bears.
Moody appeared in two games with the Bears and went 8-for-9 attempts. After being placed on the practice squad, he was picked up by the Washington Commanders, where he appeared in six games and went 10-for-11.
Moody lost the starting job to rookie Drew Stevens, leading him to be signed by the Ravens during training camp. After being released, he is now back to provide more competition.
The Ravens are clearly not happy with how the end of their Week 6 game went down. Even if Loop had made the fourth-quarter field goal, the result may have been the same.
Regardless, Minter was clearly not happy with Loop missing kicks. This is also not the first time this has happened, and the placekicker had plenty of issues during preseason football.
The Ravens may be seeing the proverbial writing on the wall and want to ensure they have what they need to make a run at winning the AFC North and more. With their defeat to the Browns, Cleveland moved into first place.
Loop may take the arrival of Moody as his drive to figure out how to stay accurate, or he could very well lose his job in the coming weeks.
Baltimore will now prepare for their second consecutive divisional rival, as they will face the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday with a chance to move back up into first place in the AFC North.
