The Baltimore Ravens are still without a starting center and head coach Jesse Minter offered an update on the plans to find that player.

The Baltimore Ravens lost one of their most important players in center Tyler Linderbaum, who is now a member of the Las Vegas Raiders. With the loss of their center, the team has gone out and boosted the offensive line with multiple additions.

Former Ravens guard John Simpson, Jovaughn Gwyn, and Danny Pinter were all added, and Corey Bullock was re-signed. Despite one of the listed linemen potentially being the starting center, head coach Jesse Minter offered an update on the team's plan for their starting center.

Of the listed linemen that were brought in, Pinter would be the likeliest choice due to playing the center position in 2025. He only had 135 snaps at center, but has a total of three starts in the last two seasons.

Bullock was Linderbaum's direct backup, but there is no telling if he will be prepared to take that role.

The Ravens appear to be in a tough spot, and Minter broke down the plan for not only infusing competition but bringing in more players ahead of training camp.

"Depth charts right now are pretty irrelevant. We are excited about a couple of the guys we added. We're excited about some of the guys on the roster. We are going to let that sort itself out through competition all the way into training camp. We're gonna use the offseason program ... the real competition will begin in training camp and i'm sure by then we will add even more pieces into that competition," Minter said.

Minter indicated that the Ravens are prepared to bring more players into the fold, which could point to the center not having been found just yet. However, competing for the starting role with the linemen that were brought in could also bring the best out of whoever gets that job.

The point of training camp is to see what the roster is made of, and Minter and the offensive staff will have to see if they have the right players in place to compete for the starting center role, among the other positions on the team.

It will be interesting to see who the Ravens add, if they plan to add anyone. A  remaining free agent option is former Cleveland Browns center Ethan Pocic.

There is also the draft, where Baltimore can choose to draft a lineman in the first round with the intention of transforming them into a center, such as interior linemen Vega Ioane.

While competition will likely be fierce for the center position, the Ravens need to make a move on bringing in some more free agents, or they may be faced with having to rely solely on rookie talent as part of that competition. Having rookies in starting positions does happen, but the center position will be incredibly important due to protecting Lamar Jackson and opening the running lanes for Derrick Henry, among many other duties.
