The Baltimore Ravens have a new special teams coordinator in Anthony Levine Sr., and head coach Jesse Minter has released a statement on the hiring.

To go along with the mostly-new coaching staff, the Baltimore Ravens have a new special teams coordinator in Anthony Levine Sr. The former player turned coach served as the assistant special teams coordinator, and has now been promoted in 2025.

Levine has an intimate knowledge of the Ravens organization, as he played for the team from 2012 to 2021 as a safety.

Following his playing career, Levine would transition into coaching, initially beginning with the Ravens as a player personnel and coaching assistant in 2022.

Levine would then move to the Tennessee Titans to serve as the assistant special teams coordinator from 2023 to 2024, and returned to Baltimore in the same role in 2025.

Now, Levine gets his chance to run the special teams for the Ravens in 2026 and beyond.

As a well-respected former player and now coach, Minter saw the value of Levine's leadership and skillset as a coach, allowing him to remain with the organization and take on a promotion.

Levine is also replacing Chris Horton, who was hired and joined John Harbaugh in New York.

With the hiring taking place, Minter commented on Levine's relentless hard work.

"Anthony has been instrumental in creating the high standard that is expected of Baltimore's special teams unit. The toughness, discipline, focus and energy he brought as a player will define his impact as a coach. He embodies what it means to be a Raven, and I'm excited to see him embrace this role with the same relentless hard work and dedication he's shown the organization for many years," Minter said.

The former player, now coach has a special nickname, which is "Co-Cap," and refers to his time with the Ravens as a captain on the special teams unit. It's a nickname that means a great deal to him, especially now that he is a coach for the organizaton.

When he retired, Harbaugh praised his leadership plenty.

"Tough, smart, persistent and dependable, Anthony represents the very best of what it means to be a Raven," Harbaugh stated following Levine's retirement. "A relentless competitor and man of high character, Anthony poured every part of himself into the team.

"He worked tirelessly to become one of the NFL's best special teams players, and he could always be relied upon to contribute at a high level on defense – no matter the role he was asked to play. Most importantly, Anthony is a terrific leader of men and someone who helped his teammates become the very best versions of themselves."
