The Baltimore Ravens' third and final injury report is out, and linebacker Teddye Buchanan and defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike have been officially ruled out.
The third and final injury report for the Baltimore Ravens has been announced, and it contains the already known status of defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike, who was ruled out earlier by head coach Jesse Minter.
Now, the report has revealed the fate of linebacker Teddye Buchanan, who has also been ruled out.
Additionally, wide receiver Devontez Walker is questionable for the game, but Zay Flowers is a full-go, as his injury status has been removed. Defensive tackle Calais Campbell was also added to the list, but got a vet rest day on Friday; hence his DNP (did not participate) status.
Despite there being hope that Buchanan would be ready to take the field, he may simply need a bit more time, as Madubuike. Minter spoke about not wanting to rule either of them out at the start of the practice week, but it appears they need a bit more time to heal from their season-ending injuries.
The good news for Madubuike and the Ravens is that Minter also indicated that he is "really close" to a full return. The same could apply to Buchanan.
When the 53-man roster was being finalized, one of the biggest shocks was that neither Madubuike nor Buchanan was added to the IR (injured reserve), which would have knocked both out for at least the first four games.
Minter and the coaching staff understood that both defenders would be ready to play within four games, and that remains to be the case. Granted, both have been ruled out for Week 1, but they could very well come back in Week 2.
Following the 53-man roster being finalized, Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta predicted that Madubuike would return in Week 3, which might also be a dead-on assessment.
Either way, Madubuike and Buchanan are both very close to returning and playing in 2026, and neither could have been ready this early.
Walker is the only other question mark for the Ravens and their Week 1 showdown with the Indianapolis Colts.
Earlier this week in practice, Minter revealed that Walker was dealing with "something minor," but that something minor is a groin injury and could lead to the receiver being ruled out.
If that is the case, it will open far more opportunities for rookies Ja'Kobi Lane and Elijah Sarratt. Lane is the presumed WR3, but the loss of Walker could lead to Sarratt getting utilized in Week 1.
Despite two players being ruled out, the Ravens have a pretty strong and healthy roster heading into their first game of the regular season.
