Baltimore Ravens center is out for the season, per head coach Jesse Minter.

Baltimore Ravens center Danny Pinter will be out for the 2026 season.

Head coach Jesse Minter spoke to the media following practice on Monday and confirmed that Pinter's injury is "likely a season-ending thing."

"It's looking like a season-ending thing. Again, my heart's out to him. Just the opportunity. You know him coming here knowing the situation that we had. Earning the opportunity to potentially being a starter. I know that he will work through this and come back due to the type of guy that he is," Minter said.

Pinter was initially injured during joint practice with the Minnesota Vikings last week, as the lineman appeared to get rolled on during a play. Following the play, the center had to be carted off the field.

Minter would not initially admit that Pinter was out for the season, and stated that the team would do the proper testing to determine the severity of the injury. Now, that news has been confirmed.

Pinter was right in the middle of the center competition, as he had been thrust into the role alongside Jovaughn Gwyn dating back to OTAs and minicamp.

Backup center Corey Bullock was dealing with some injuries, and Ethan Pocic had not yet been signed.

Gwyn and Pinter were the leaders in the room, but Pocic was another player to watch as training camp rolled on. The former Cleveland Browns center also suffered a season-ending Achilles tear in 2025, and Minter stated that Pocic would be brought long slowly.

Pocic has seen some action in preseason, and he is now presumably going to be battling it out with Gwyn for the starting center position.

The battle for center has been one of the more intriguing aspects of this Ravens offense, and it has now taken a turn for the worse in the injury to Pinter.

Baltimore needs a strong starting center, but Minter has also stated his happiness with the room, despite the injury to Pinter.

Additionally, the center competition is one that has not been figured out or set, and there is one more preseason game left to go. As it currently stands, Gwyn has received plenty of praise from the Ravens' head coach.

Pocic might also be farther along in his recovery heading into this final week of preseason action, so expect that he will be heavily involved in the final preseason game, as will Gwyn. Minter is likely wanting to see how both perform in what will be the final live-game action before the start of the regular season.

Pinter may have been lost, but the Ravens also have a potentially solid option in either Pocic or Gwyn, with the other then reverting to being the top backup depending on whoever wins the starting center position.
