UPDATE:
Kyle Hamilton has been ruled out with a concussion.
Things have been going very well for the Baltimore Ravens through the first half of their must-win game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, minutes into the third quarter, a significant injury occurred.
Pittsburgh started the third quarter with an offensive drive, and during a pass breakup from Aaron Rodgers, Ravens safeties Kyle Hamilton and Alohi Gilman collided with one another. Gilman was taken to the blue medical tent immediately, and Hamilton remained on the ground for several minutes.
Gilman was able to return after being checked out in the tent, but Hamilton remained in the tent for several minutes after being taken off the field.
It was reported that Hamilton was carted to the locker room and is being evaluated with a concussion.
With Hamilton out, the Ravens put in backup Ardarius Washington. Rodgers took full advantage of the change, and targeted Adam Thielen for a big gain.
At the time of this writing, the score is now tied 10-10 following a rushing touchdown from the Steelers.
Considering Hamilton had to be carted off the field, he is unlikely to return to the game. Considering his impact, this is a huge loss for the Ravens.
Baltimore's defense has held strong through most of the game, keeping Rodgers from completing big gains through the air. The play to Thielen was the biggest on the day.
Pittsburgh has also only managed to get 59 yards on the ground.
For the Ravens, Derrick Henry has been on fire, securing over 100 yards before halftime. Currently, he has 112 yards on 15 carries.
Lamar Jackson has managed 59 yards and one touchdown through the air, and this has been a big-time rushing game for the Ravens. It is likely that Henry will get even more carry opportunities through the remainder of the game.
The Ravens' defense has not been able to get after Rodgers much, securing just one sack. Rattling the Steelers quarterback will now be even more paramount, especially with Hamilton now out of the game.
The winner of this game will secure the AFC North title, and face the Houston Texans during Wild Card Weekend. Baltimore need to continue their momentum with Henry to bring home the win.
