There is no hiding that the Baltimore Ravens need pass rush. Though they could easily bolster the group in the draft, there are growing rumors they could take a swing at a big-name free agent.
Odafe Oweh would make sense considering his ties to Jesse Minter and the Ravens organization, but reports indicate that the team may be going after Maxx Crosby. The Las Vegas Raiders appear to be open to trading Crosby, and Baltimore has been labeled a "team to watch."
It is not often that a player of Crosby's caliber becomes available. There are also reports that the Raiders are working on a new deal to keep him, but there are a multitude of teams that will be interested in landing him if a trade is remotely possible.
Crosby has been one of the best pass rushers in the league, securing 69.5 sacks in seven seasons. He brought in 10 sacks in 2025, even while dealing with a nagging knee injury.
Crosby also brought in 32 sacks in the past three seasons, showing no signs of slowing down. He would instantly upgrade any defense that he joined.
While there might be at least 10 teams angling to bring in Crosby, the Ravens have been squarely mentioned as a favorite.
Per NFL insider Dianna Russini, the reports of Crosby potentially being traded are gaining steam. She also indicated that the Ravens are a "team to watch."
"Maxx Crosby is drawing serious interest around the league. The Dallas Cowboys are closely monitoring the situation and remain very interested, while the Baltimore Ravens are also a team to watch. GMs believe the Las Vegas Raiders are willing to work on a deal. "
Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta and the front office are typically into huge deals for free agents, as the plan has always been to build through the draft. However, Crosby is a game-wrecking pass rusher who will put Baltimore's defense over the top.
As stated, Crosby is that kind of generational talent that you take a big swing at if available.
If Baltimore were to land Crosby, they could rebuild the defensive effort around him, linebacker Roquan Smith, and safety Kyle Hamilton.
Needing an effective pass rusher is one thing, but to land one that completely changes the makeup of a defense and opposing offense plan is something to take a big swing at.
DeCosta may have said the Ravens will not be big free agency players, but expect that they will try to land Crosby at the right price.
