The Baltimore Ravens are getting to work, replacing their lost safeties with the addition of former New England Patriots defender Jaylinn Hawkins.

The Baltimore Ravens have been hit hard in free agency, losing safeties Ar'Darius Washington to the New York Giants and Alohi Gilman to the Kansas City Chiefs. Now, the team has recouped with the addition of Jaylinn Hawkins.

Hawkins comes over after spending the last two seasons with the New England Patriots. Per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the deal is for two years, worth $10 million.

Hawkins is now the Ravens' third safety behind Kyle Hamilton and Malaki Starks. He is also a major replacement, given that Washington and Gilman are now on other teams.

Hawkins appeared and started in 15 games for the Patriots in 2025, bringing in four interceptions, six passes defended, 1.5 sacks, and 71 total tackles. He also gave up three touchdowns, a 57.1 completion percentage, and a 71.2 passer rating.

Hawking is a solid safety and could do well within Jesse Minter and Anthony Weaver's new defensive system.

Initially, Hawkins was drafted in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Cal. After spending his first nearly four seasons with the Atlanta Falcons, he would join the Los Angeles Chargers off of waivers.

Hawkins would then sign with the Patriots in the 2024 offseason.

Through six seasons, Hawkins has 90 game appearances, 47 starts, eight interceptions, 17 passes defended, two forced fumbles, two sacks, and 254 total tackles.

Baltimore is getting to work after losing nine players, and Hawkins is the latest signing in the secondary to complement Chidobe Awuzie, who was also re-signed.

Center Tyler Linderbaum, tight ends Isaiah Likely and Charlie Kolar, pass rusher Dre'Mont Jones, punter Jordan Stout, Gilman and Washington, fullback Patrick Ricard, and running back Keaton Mitchell are also not returning, with the latter not being tendered.

Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta also plans to speak to reporters about the fallout of the Maxx Crosby trade, which was canceled, sending back Baltimore's two first-round picks.

Perennial edge rusher Trey Hendrickson was signed, making up for the immense loss of Crosby.

Despite the losses, the Ravens still have a strong team, and they can certainly upgrade many positions in the upcoming draft. Free agency has also just begun, so expect more moves to be made in the coming days.
