While the Baltimore Ravens have found their new head coach in Jesse Minter, they unfortunately missed out on landing top candidate Joe Brady as their offensive coordinator.

The Baltimore Ravens have officially hired former Los Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter as their new head coach.

Minter has proven to be one of the top defensive minds in the league, having helped lead Michigan to the College Football Playoffs National Championship alongside Jim Harbaugh and improving the Chargers' defense to one of the best in the league.

Now, the Ravens need a top offensive mind to go along with Minter's defensive prowess. Unfortunately, it seems one of their top candidates is officially off the market.

On January 27, the Buffalo Bills announced that they are promoting offensive coordinator Joe Brady to fill the vacant head coach position left by Sean McDermott.

Brady has slowly been moving up the coaching ladder with the Bills since 2022 and is largely considered responsible for turning quarterback Josh Allen into an MVP-level talent, so it only makes sense that he would take the head coaching job.

While Brady would have been a great addition to the Ravens coaching staff, there are still plenty of candidates that will make a lasting impact as offensive coordinator.

The other top candidate seems to be former Washington Commanders offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury, who parted ways with the Commanders after two seasons with the team.

Kingsbury was largely responsible for developing the offense that led to Washington becoming the fifth-highest scoring offense in the 2024 NFL Season and put the Commanders in the NFC Championship.

A former NFL quarterback, Kingsbury has previous coaching experience as the head coach for the Arizona Cardinals from 2019 to 2022, and the head coach for Texas Tech from 2013 to 2018.

Another intriguing candidate is Detroit Lions assistant head coach and wide receivers coach Scottie Montgomery.

A former NFL wide receiver, Montgomery began his coaching career in 2006 as a wide receivers coach for Duke. In 2010, Montgomery made the move to the NFL as the wide receivers coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

In 2013, Montgomery returned to Duke, where he took on various roles from 2013 to 2015. In 2016, he was named the head coach for East Carolina before being fired from the position in 2018.

After a stint as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Maryland, Montgomery returned to the NFL as the Indianapolis Colts' running back coach from 2021-2022.

The most recent candidate reported is Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Declan Doyle, who joined the team alongside new head coach Ben Johnson. The Bears massively improved from the previous season, going from a 5-12 win-loss record to an 11-6 record.

Doyle first came to the NFL in 2019 as an offensive assistant for the New Orleans Saints. From 2023 to 2024, he served as the tight ends coach for the Denver Broncos.
