Compensatory picks are awarded to teams that lose quality free agents, and it appears the Baltimore Ravens could benefit greatly in 2026.
Per a prediction from compensatory pick guru Nick Korte, the Ravens could receive four picks in 2026.
Korte broke down his predictions for the compensatory picks that each team will receive for the 2026 NFL Draft, and the Ravens are set to potentially receive four.
The first two picks are both in the fifth round and will be given to Baltimore for losing cornerback Brandon Stephens and offensive lineman Patrick Mekari.
Stephens joined the New York Jets in 2025, signing a three-year, $36 million contract.
Mekari joined the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2025, signing a three-year, $37.5 million contract.
The next two compensatory picks are both in the seventh round, as the Ravens also lost safety Tre'Davious White and offensive lineman Josh Jones.
White joined the Buffalo Bills on a one-year, $6.8 million contract, and Jones joined the Seattle Seahawks on a one-year, $4.75 million contract.
If Korte's list is true, the Ravens are picking up four compensatory picks in 2026, which could go a long way in terms of bolstering the roster.
Also, general manager Eric DeCosta could use the compensatory picks to package as part of a deal for a trade, or to move up in the draft. The Ravens need upgrades on the offensive line, secondary, pass rush, wide receiver, and more.
DeCosta initially stated that the team would go after "big ticket" items in free agency, but walked back those comments and indicated they would likely follow the same formula of not being super active in free agency.
DeCosta may have been throwing up a smokescreen, as the team could be in the running to land a talent like Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby.
If Crosby is made available and the Ravens have any shot of landing him, that is a decision that DeCosta needs to jump at with the front office. Having a plethora of draft capital can also be used to ensure Baltimore can land such a player.
Even if the front office chooses not to make a big move in free agency, they are fully expected to build through the draft in a big way. DeCosta has been quite good at evaluating and drafting talent with his front office staff, and getting an additional four picks can go a long way.
