Ravens Remove Teddye Buchanan From PUP, Kendall Lamm Retires

The Baltimore Ravens have made some significant roster moves involving linebacker Teddye Buchanan and offensive lineman Kendall Lamm.

The Baltimore Ravens have made two significant roster moves.

The team announced that linebacker Teddy Buchanan has passed his physical and is being taken off the PUP (physically unable to perform) list. The second-year defender tore his ACL late in the 2025 season.

Previous to the injury, Buchanan was one of the most solid contributors on the Ravens team. He had 93 tackles, the second-most on the defense, only trailing All-Pro linebacker Roquan Smith at the time.

Following the injury and his season ending prematurely, Buchanan was added to the PFWA NFL All-Rookie Team.

Buchanan's 93 tackles were good for third on the team in 2025, leading to his end-of-season award.

Buchanan was shown during the offseason engaging in strong workouts, running and cutting, but he was still added to the PUP list.

Head coach Jesse Minter had stated that Buchanan was "farther along" than defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike, but Madubuike had been removed from the PUP list at the start of training camp.

Madubuike has yet to return to team drills, but Minter indicated that he was likely to do so in the week leading to the Ravens' second preseason game.

What will be interesting is if Buchanan will be making his 2026 debut during preseason. That may be a bit too soon considering he was just removed from the PUP list, but he might also be ready to go.

Lamm was brought in as offensive line depth, especially as a tackle, and he had been signed in early August. The former Miami Dolphins tackle was one of several tackles that tried out for Baltimore, and was signed very quickly following his tryout.

Now, Lamm has been added to the reserved/retired list, meaning he is stepping away from game instead of playing for the Ravens in 2026.

There might have also been a case that he would not have been able to make the 53-man roster. Either way, the longtime lineman is ending his career in the NFL.

There is plenty to look out for in the Ravens' upcoming preseason matchup against the Eagles. There are rookie players like linebacker Zion Young, wide receivers Elijah Sarratt and Ja'Kobi Lane, plus cornerback T.J. Tampa.

Preseason is a way for Minter and the coaching staff to evaluate their players leading to having cut down their roster from 90 players to 53 on Aug. 39 by 6 pm EST.
