The Ravens have already begun their rookie mini camp, which begins on Friday and runs through Saturday as well. The majority of their draft picks have already seen and been given their jerseys, which was showcased in a great video by the organization.
The rookie mini camp is taking place, which gives the Ravens the chance to see what their new crop of talent can do. Head coach Jesse Minter and the rest of the coaching staff will begin their evaluations.
Among the signed UDFA rookies are both UConn quarterback Joe Fagnano and Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia. Both have come into the Baltimore rookie mini camp on three-year deals.
There is a strong chance that one or both could end up on the roster, and the opposite is also true. The Ravens do not have a third quarterback behind Tyler Huntley, so it would be beleived that one of the rookies could do enough to ensure they have a spot on the team come Week 1.
There have been plenty of UDFA who have gone on to have terrific careers, but it is an uphill battle to do so. Most undrafted free agent rookies are not only battling against their own competitors signed, but also the players that were drafted.
That said, the Ravens have signed a ton of potential rookies that could shine through training camp and preseason and end up either landing a spot on the 53-man roster or on the practice squad.
For the players who have signed, that is certainly a possibility, and they have already begun their attempts to do so.
