Baltimore Ravens rookie Teddye Buchanan tore his ACL in the 2025 season, but he looks to be ready in a new workout video.
Baltimore Ravens rookie standout Teddye Buchana suffered an unfortunate torn ACL, which knocked him out for the final three games of the season. He was beginning to show his motor in a big way, as he compiled 93 total tackles before the injury occurred.
Buchanan is clearly young, and he has now shown off his amazing recovery in a new workout video. The video shows him making cuts on the field, which is not the usual case for players seven months removed from such an injury.
There is no telling if Buchanan will be ready to play in Week 1 of the regular season, but the above video may indicate as such. His return would be a huge boost to the Ravens' defense.
Before the ACL tear, Buchanan had kept pace with Roquan Smith and was second in tackles on the team. They would both be passed by Kyle Hamilton, but there was a clear one-two punch combo on the linebacker side of things.
Buchanan also picked up half a sack and was likely leading towards a Defensive Rookie of the Year nod. Though he did not receive a nomination for that role, he was named to the PFWA All-Rookie NFL team, which is a huge honor.
The defense figures to experience a big bounce back in 2026, especially due to having a fully healthy unit and the arrival of Jesse Minter and Anthony Weaver.
With new additions like Calais Campbell and Trey Hendrickson, the pass rush is also expected to take a big leap. That can be amplified with a healthy Buchanan and the return of Nnamdi Madubuike.
The defensive lineman suffered a neck injury and was ruled out of most of the 2025 season. Madubuike has since received neck surgery, and his return is reportedly imminent.
With Mike Green, Tavius Robinson, Campbell, Hendrickson, Buchanan, Madubuike, Smith, and the young Zion Young on that line and at linebacker, the Ravens may just have what they need to make some noise in the AFC and AFC North.
This is all predicated on the return of those injured players, but the signs seem to point to Baltimore getting back Madubuike and Buchanan at some point during this season. While both may need some extra time to heal, they might also be ready to go by the start of the regular season.
