The Baltimore Ravens took to upgrading the offensive line, bringing back lineman John Simpson on a three-year deal.

The Baltimore Ravens are as busy as every other team in the NFL, as they have agreed to bring back offensive lineman John Simpson on a three-year deal.

Simpson played for the Ravens during the 2022 and 2023 seasons and is now back in the building.

Per The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec, the Ravens and Simpsons have agreed on a deal that will pay the interior lineman $30 million over three years. The deal is also based on Simpson passing a physical.

With the struggles that both Daniel Faalele and Andrew Vorhees had, the Ravens upgraded their line with a major signing. Faalele is set to become an unrestricted free agent, and is likely to sign with another team.

Simpson played in and started all 17 games with the New York Jets in 2025, and will now be a major component to protecting Lamar Jackson and helping the run game behind Derrick Henry.

Simpson's 1,014 offensive snaps is ranked 23rd out of guards in the NFL, and having a solid and stalwart lineman was important for the Ravens.

With Simpson joining the team, Baltimore might also still upgrade the line in the draft. At No. 14 overall, the Ravens might still want to target Francis Mauigoa or Vega Ioane.

Other Ravens free agent moves

While the Ravens are bringing back familiar faces, they have also lost a trio of free agents. Edge rusher Dre'Mont Jones has reached a deal with the New England Patriots.

Punter Jordan Stout and tight end Isaiah Likely have also signed new deals, both reuniting with John Harbaugh in New York.

Two other players that the Ravens have yet to make movement on are Lamar Jackson, who is awaiting a new deal, and center Tyler Linderbaum.

Jackson getting a new deal must happen to cut down the over $70 million cap hit that he will incur in 2026. His deal might also lead to Linderbaum getting his deal.

The Washington Commanders are reportedly after Linderbaum as well.

Free agency tampering period has barely started, and there are many variables to deal with, especially with the Ravens.
