Ahead of undrafted quarterback Diego Pavia set to try out for the Baltimore Ravens, they have instead signed him to a three-year deal.

The Baltimore Ravens made quick work of Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia, accepting an invitation to try out at their rookie mini camp. Instead of waiting to see what the young prospect can do, the team is reportedly signing him to a three-year deal.

Adam Schefter reported the news on X, stating:

"Ravens are signing former Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia to a three-year deal, per source. Pavia was supposed to try out this weekend, but the Ravens signed him in advance."

Pavia was the runner-up in Hesiman voting and went undrafted. Though he had accepted a deal to join the Ravens' upcoming mini camp, he instead is reportedly landing a three-year deal.

Strangely, Baltimore also signed UConn quarterback Joe Fagnano to a three-year deal earlier on Monday.

Now, the Ravens have four quarterbacks in the room. Lamar Jackson, Tyler Huntley, Pavia, and Fagnano.

This is an odd turn of events, especially for two undrafted rookies to be signed to a multi-year deal within hours of one another.

Pavia ended the 2025 season with 3,539 yards, 29 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. He also led the SEC with a 70.6 completion percentage, touchdowns, a 9.4 yards per attempt, and a 170.4 passer rating.

Despite putting together an impressive senior season and a collegiate career in general, the rookie prospect has been surrounded by drama.

Pavia does not have an agent and has been viewed as arrogant and cocky, though he has explained that as being confident. There were also reports that he allegedly urinated on a rival team's field.

Despite the rumors, he accepted an invitation from the Ravens to presumably take a giant step forward in his playing career. Whether or not he would have signed a contract, shedding the perceived "character concerns" would have put him in a better position.

Instead, he has now signed a deal with Baltimore, where he will play under Jackson and Huntley. It will be interesting to see how Fagnano fits into the picture, but the pair of young prospects is likely to battle it out in training camp and preseason to lock in the third emergency quarterback position behind the aforementioned veterans.
