The Baltimore Ravens are set to sign veteran center Ethan Pocic to a one-year deal.

After months of speculation regarding whether or not the Baltimore Ravens would make a move to sign a veteran center, they are set to do just that.

Per multiple reports, former Cleveland Browns center Ethan Pocic is signing a one-year deal with the Ravens. Pocic will effectively replace Tyler Linderbaum, who signed a massive deal to join the Las Vegas Raiders.

Pocic saw his 2025 season ended early when he tore his Achilles in December, but he has since been recovering. A recent report confirmed the longtime veteran was cleared for football duties, and the Ravens made a move to bring him in.

There has been a lot of worry regarding the center position with the Ravens, especially after losing Linderbaum in free agency. A combination of John Simpson, Jovaughn Gwyn, and Danny Pinter were brought in to bolster the offensive line, but only Pinter had experience at the position.

Pinter has 10 starts at center, and he and Gwyn had been battling it out during OTAs and minicamp to see who could emerge as the team's starting center. Clearly, there were some concerns, as Baltimore has now brought in Pocic to potentially be that starter.

Pocic has 97 starts in his career, and started in 15 games in 2023 and 16 in 2024. He was 13 games in when the Achilles injury occurred.

Pocic came in as the 20th ranked center on Pro Football Focus with an overall grade of 63.8. During 2023, he was ranked in the top 15.

The Ravens now have a major veteran to help aid the run game while also protecting Lamar Jackson. They also have some big backups in the form of Pinter, Gwyn, and Corey Bullock.

Bullock was the direct backup to Linderbaum in 2025, but he was dealing with a minor injury that kept him from performing in the same manner as Gwyn and Pinter were during minicamp.

Now, the Ravens have a proven veteran to take over, and they do not have to continue scrambling and hoping that one of the linemen they brought in would be their stop-gap option.
