A look at where the Baltimore Ravens have ranked in national power rankings.
There is a lot of belief that the Baltimore Ravens will experience a bounce-back season, and it is not hard to believe that, considering the team has quarterback Lamar Jackson and a wealth of talent on both sides of the ball.
Despite that belief, the team also has a new coaching staff in place under head coach Jesse Minter.
Minter is a first-time head coach, but he does have a roster that is seemingly ready to compete for the playoffs and potentially more.
That said, here is a look at where the Ravens rank in national power rankings.
NFL.com - No. 6
The folks at NFL.com see the Ravens as a top 10 team, and some reasons are due to the defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike being close to returning, the addition of Trey Hendrickson, and the surging rookie receiver Ja'Kobi Lane.
Madubuike is close to returning, and Minter indicated he will not rule out the defensive tackle for Week 1, despite the Baltimore defender recovering from offseason neck surgery.
Hendrickson suffered his own core muscle injury in 2025, leading to a less-than-stellar 2025 season. Prior to that, the former Cincinnati Bengals defender had 17.5 sacks in consecutive seasons.
Lane has become a highlight reel in preseason and training camp, but he can prove that is really the case in Week 1.
The Athletic - No. 11
The Athletic was a little less kind, as they put Baltimore just outside the top 10, at No. 11 overall.
There are some bigger questions that have not yet been answered, leading to the ranking.
"Can Lamar Jackson stay healthy? Can new coach Jesse Minter return the defense to elite status? We’ve bumped them up five spots since camp started, given their good health and easy schedule to start the season," the ranking states.
Jackson's health will be paramount, but the 2025 season may have simply been an outlier. The defense also played very well in preseason without starters on the field, but Minter will need to still guide that unit to be just as dangerous in the regular season.
Fox Sports - No. 3
Fox Sports sees the Ravens as not only being a top-10 team but also being a top-five team. Again, Jackson is mentioned, but he is coupled with running back Derrick Henry and wide receiver Zay Flowers as being the "Big 3."
This is quite true, as the trio have been the main source of the Baltimore offense being as good as it has been in recent years. Lane is also mentioned again, being the potential star rookie to push the offense over the limit.
Bleacher Report - No. 11
Bleacher Report has a similar ranking to The Athletic, due to the defense being ranked No. 24 in 2025. The injuries impacted the team on both sides of the ball, leading to an underwhelming 8-9 season.
The Ravens now have Minter and Anthony Weaver, and it will be up to their minds to bring the defense back to its previous prowess.
