Rich Eisen has offered some huge praise for Baltimore Ravens rookie lineman Vega Ioane, but offered a bold prediction for the guard.

After needing to upgrade the offensive line in a major way, the Baltimore Ravens were patient and let Penn State guard Vega Ioane fall to them at pick No. 14 overall in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Now, Ioane has showcased some of his athleticism during the rookie mini camp and has drawn the attention of longtime NFL analyst and pundit, Rich Eisen. Eisen not only heaped a ton of praise on the rookie, but also offered a bold prediction that he will be up for Offensive Rookie of the Year.

"He's going to be so good," Eisen said.

"He is going to be a finalist for offensive rookie of the year at right guard," Eisen followed up with.

Eisen's co-host Chris Brockman chortled at the idea, and also stated that Ioane's chances at winning the award are 400-1 odds. Eisen then said he may not win it, but that he will be a finalist for the award.

Essentially, Eisen believes that Ioane will be so good that he will defy the odds for an award that is not generally handed out to linemen, and there has been no such player who has won the award. Quenton Nelson finished third in voting and was one of the only linemen to get close.

The Ravens do have a solid player in Ioane, who already impressed in the rookie mini camp, as he showcased his explosiveness while exhibiting some leadership qualities while breaking down the huddle. There is no telling if he will be a guaranteed solid player, but things appear to be pointing that way.

Ioane impressed heavily during his collegiate career and was the consensus top guard coming out of the draft. In 2025, he gave up one penalty, no sacks, and only four pressures.

Potential Ravens Line Placements

Ioane is a strong and burly lineman who can get loose and shove the pile due to his solid core and heavy physicality. There is a strong chance that he will be taking the left guard spot on the Ravens' line.

Ronnie Stanley at left tackle, Danny Pinter or Corey Bullock as center, John Simpson at right guard, and Roger Rosengarten as right tackle.

Baltimore has the makings of a decent line, but they may also choose to trade for a starting center. There is also the chance that they try out Ioane in that spot.

Ioane spoke about playing in the left and right guard positions, and also indicated he played a bit of center. That may not be enough, but head coach Jesse Minter indicated there will be competition and changes on the line.

Ioane has the kind of skills where his transition from guard to center may not be that difficult. Should he make it as the center, then the line could have a very strong anchor.
