Taking a look at the good news and bad news of the latest Baltimore Ravens injury report.
The Baltimore Ravens are gearing up to face the New England Patriots in a game that has heavy playoff implications. Both teams are chasing a playoff berth, but the Ravens are in far more tense situation.
Winning out is the only guaranteed way the Ravens can make the playoffs, but they have a tall task ahead with the Patriots. Playing one of the best teams in the AFC and NFL comes with steep challenges, but even more so if crucial players are out.
The latest injury report for the Ravens contains some good and bad news.
Good News
The good news for the latest injury report starts with Rashod Bateman. After dealing with an ankle injury that kept him out of Week 15, he has been upgraded to a full participant for Week 16.
Zay Flowers also popped up on the injury report with a neck ailment, though it does not seem to be anything of significance.
Lamar Jackson returned to practice after being hit with an illness. RoquanSmith was also upgraded to a full participant after missing Wednesday's practice with a knee injury.
Bad News
Teddye Buchanan getting hit with a DNP status was warranted, as he suffered a torn ACL. However, there are some active players that have been added, which could be cause for concern.
Cornerback Chidobe Awuzie also missed practice for the second day in a row after suffering a foot injury in the Bengals' win.
Starting center Tyler Linderbaum is currently dealing with a knee injury that kept him limited on Thursday.
Offensive lineman Ronnie Stanley also remains on the injury report with a limited designation due to knee and ankle injuries, as does Kyle Van Noy. Van Noy is dealing with a quad injury that kept him out of practice on Wednesday and limited on Thursday.
Though many of the players who are limited are not guaranteed to miss the crucial Patriots matchup, being limited two days in a row or missing practice on Friday could lead to some difficult roster hits.
The hope for the Ravens is that Linderbaum, Stanley, and Van Noy are upgraded on Friday, or at the very least are not ruled out.
It does appear that Awuzie is unlikely to be able to suit up. Should he miss Friday's practice, John Harbaugh might make the call to sit him.
The final injury report will detail which players are headed for a missed game. Apart from Awuzie, the Ravens losing any more of the current list of starters would be a tough hit.
