What John Jenkins had to say about landing extension with Ravens cover image

The Baltimore Ravens signed John Jenkins to an extension, and the star defensive tackle reacted to landing the new deal.

The Baltimore Ravens have wasted no time when it comes to signing important veterans to new deals. On the heels of Mark Andrews and Travis Jones landing new deals, John Jenkins was the next to get a new extension.

Jenkins signed an extension worth $2 million, per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Jenkins spoke to the media following the deal, stating his gratefullness of receiving an extension for the first time in 13 years.

"I've been around the whole of America, and having my first extension in 13 years, I'm excited," Jenkins said.

When Jenkins was asked what it was about the Ravens organization that made him want to stay, he flipped the question to the team needing to answer it.

"I think you should ask them because theyre the one that believed in me to give me the opportunity in the first place. And then say 'Hey, we want you to come back.'"

"Here, I'm just doing my job and trying to be the best that I can," Jenkins said. "But it takes two to tango in regards of, 'Hey, I want you to stay here, and I love the way how you present yourself, and you [bring] good value to our organization.' I appreciate that, and I'm very grateful for that," Jenkins added.

Jenkins joined the Ravens ahead of the 2025 season after spending the 2023 and 2024 seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders.

During his time in Baltimore, Jenkins has secured 36 total tackles, one pass defended, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, one sack, and one quarterback hit.

Jenkins has become a big part of the Ravens' defensive front, and he will now remain with the team.

Baltimore will need to boost its pass rush in the offseason, as there has been a major lack of getting after opposing quarterbacks. The good news is Jenkins will be part of the solidified defensive line to aid in the pass rush and linebackers or defensive ends potentially getting would-be sacks.

Jenkins wasn't the only player who received an extension, as long snapper Nick Moore also revealed that the Ravens signed him to a four-year extension as well.

The Ravens have longed rewarded players on their roster, and their recent tally is now four players who have received new deals before the conclusion of the 2025 regular season.
