The Baltimore Ravens were historically bad at home in 2025, and they must correct that issue in 2026.

One of the biggest issues for the Baltimore Ravens in 2025 was winning games at home. The usual case is for teams to reap the benefit of not having to travel, but that was not the case.

Baltimore posted a 3-6 record at home, with the three games being the lowest in franchise history. That win total will need to be fixed by Jesse Minter, especially if the Ravens want a shot at the playoffs in 2026.

There is a lot of belief that the Ravens can have a bounce-back year, especially under Minter, who is set to be a first-time NFL head coach. Minter has plenty of familiarity with the organization after serving as a defensive coach from 2017 to 2020.

Minter went on to be the defensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Chargers, transforming the defense into a top 10 unit in both 2024 and 2025. Now, he continues his career as the leader of the Ravens.

In terms of the defense, it can be argued that Minter had far less to work with on the Chargers and still turned the unit into a force. With the Ravens, he had players like linebacker Roquan Smith, safety Kyle Hamilton, and now edge Trey Hendrickson, just to name a few.

The offense should also take a sizable leap, as there is a lot of hope from the organization that former Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Declan Doyle can help Lamar Jackson take an even bigger leap in 2026.

Jackson has two league MVP awards, but is now without Todd Monken and John Harbaugh, both of whom have left to lead other teams.

Many have argued that Harbaugh and Monken were major components to the success of Jackson, and now the situation might be similar to that of Tom Brady leaving behind the New England Patriots and Bill Belichick.

There is also the aspect that Monken and Harbaugh lost the ability to move the offense to the level it should be operating at with a talent like Jackson.

Either way, there is a brand-new coaching staff in place that can turn things around in a big way, and one of the biggest goals will be to turn around the performance in home games. Granted, winning road games will be just as important, but the Ravens need to win at home even more.

Among the home games are the divisional rivals in the Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Cincinnati Bengals, which are important for the division crown, but there are also playoff hopefuls that Baltimore will need to beat.

The Jacksonville Jaguars, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and aforementioned Chargers are also among the home opponents. Should the Ravens beat those teams, it will vastly improve their playoff chances, especially against the AFC teams.

Minter has a tall task ahead as a first-time head coach, but an even bigger responsibility in leading the Ravens to win far more home games.
