The Baltimore Ravens have multiple roster needs, but they face an important crossroads decision with their first-round pick.

The Baltimore Ravens are among the teams to watch for in the upcoming NFL Draft.

The Ravens received their 14th overall pick back after the debacle of a trade that was the Maxx Crosby situation. That is a thing of the past, and the focus now is to find impactful players in the draft.

It’s a difficult task, but one that general manager Eric DeCosta will look to tackle. The Ravens have several roster needs to address, with wide receiver standing out as one of the most pressing, along with the offensive line.

The choice of which position to take first puts the team at a difficult crossroads.

Baltimore's wide receiver group is far from their strong suit. But, with the 14th overall pick, they have a chance to upgrade that position with that one pick.

The draft is certainly a spot the Ravens could look to bolster that position. At the 14 spot, the Ravens could have their choice from Jordyn Tyson (Arizona State), Makai Lemon (USC), and Carnell Tate (Ohio State).

Any one of those picks could be an immediate impact for the Ravens offense alongside quarterback Lamar Jackson and star wide receiver Zay Flowers.

Flowers is coming off the strongest season of his career, posting 1,211 receiving yards and five touchdowns. However, the receiving position beyond Flowers was severely lacking, as no other pass catcher secured over 500 yards receiving.

Tyson, Lemon, or Tate could be picks that would strengthen the offense and provide Jackson and Flowers with huge help.

Overall, the wide receiver position in the 2025 season was disappointing. It lacked a secondary option in that department, and the numbers tell it all. The Ravens ranked last in passing attempts (422) and completions (278), 28th in total pass yards (3278) and 21st in passing touchdowns (23).

The draft is not the only source for an upgrade. There are still plenty of stellar wide receiver free agents on the market.

Free agent wide receivers like Jauan Jennings, Stefon Diggs, Deebo Samuel, and DeAndre Hopkins have been linked to the Ravens. Any one of them could be a great addition to the Ravens offense (if they are used properly).

While that is the case, the Ravens also lack other offensive needs, like protection for Jackson in the offensive line.

A handful of mock drafts have the Ravens selecting an offensive lineman with the No. 14 overall pick. Protecting Jackson will be crucial not only for the upcoming season but for the long-term future as well.

The two-time MVP is 29 years old and has dealt with injuries in the past. If the Ravens want to maximize Jackson’s prime for years to come, reinforcing the offensive line is a move that makes too much sense to ignore.

This puts the Ravens at a crossroads for the No. 14 overall pick. Typically, DeCosta and the front office go with the best player available, but that should not be the case during this draft.

Offensive line and wide receiver are the top two needs for Baltimore, and either one would make sense.
