As the New Orleans Saints prepare for the start of free agency, it was reported today by Tom Pelissero that they were making the savvy decision to convert a portion of Alvin Kamara’s salary in order to free up cap space.
According to Pelissero, the Saints converted $10.155 million of Kamara’s base salary into a signing bonus. The move saves $8.124 million on New Orleans’ 2026 cap. Pelissero continues by saying that the move keeps the team’s options open on Kamara’s contract and status moving forward.
