In his second start for the Saints, rookie quarterback Tyler Shough had a "breakout" day, going 19/27 for 282 yards, two touchdowns and a 128.9 passer rating in a 17-7 victory against an NFC South foe in the Carolina Panthers.

Former Saints quarterback Drew Brees thought so too, saying as much in a recent interview with WWL Radio.

"Yeah, look, it was an impressive performance, and he's one of those guys who's only gonna get better each time he gets a chance to get on the field," Brees began.

"That's the only problem, the only tough thing about the quarterback position is only one guy can play, and you need the experience and the repetition to develop confidence and all those things that come with it."

Do you think the Saints struck gold with Shough? Or, should the fan base pump the brakes on any crownings after only one start? Let us know in the comment section below.
