Could We See WR Stefon Diggs Signed to the Saints for 2026?

Writing a story on the New Orleans Saints for SI.com, writer Patrick McAvoy made the claim that the team and second-year passer Tyler Shough would benefit greatly from a Stefon Diggs arrival in the Big Easy.  He explained,  "If you put Diggs on the Saints' offense right now, they would have the best offense in the NFC South on paper. Other teams have made moves, but the Saints are really just one move away. Diggs should be the guy. Plus, he has experience playing — and elevating — young quarterbacks. He did it with Maye and he did it with Josh Allen. If the Saints could pair him with Shough, it would be a step in the right direction."Mar 26, 2026

Could the Saints Target Bills' Keon Coleman in the WR Market?

The New Orleans Saints could be in the market for a wide receiver this offseason. One of the options for the role would be Buffalo Bills pass-catcher Keon Coleman.  According to The Heavy's Evan Massey,  "With that being said, New Orleans has been suggested as a potential trade partner with the Buffalo Bills for young wide receiver Keon Coleman. Coleman was a healthy scratch for multiple games last season with the Bills. There has been a lot of speculation that Buffalo would be open to trading him this offseason. While no move has been made yet, Sports Illustrated’s Mike Kadlick named Coleman to the Saints as one trade he’d like to see this offseason."Mar 20, 2026

Saints and LB Kaden Elliss Reunite

According to ESPN (contributed to by Marc Raimondi), The New Orleans Saints "have agreed to a three-year, $33 million deal with linebacker Kaden Elliss, according to NFL Network, with $23 million guaranteed and a maximum value of nearly $39 million."  Originally drafted by the Saints in the 2019 draft, Elliss just completed three seasons with the Atlanta Falcons.  He now returns after long time linebacker Demario Davis bolted for the New York Jets. Mar 12, 2026

Breaking: Saints legendary DE Cameron Jordan will enter free agency

According to NFL Senior Insider Adam Schefter, the New Orleans Saints and legendary defensive end Cam Jordan won't be striking a deal before free agency, thus opening the door for him to leave the franchise.  Via X, he stated, "Eight-time Pro-Bowl DE Cameron Jordan, who has spent his 15-year career in New Orleans and had 10.5 sacks last season, will not have a new deal in place with New Orleans by next week and now will hit free agency for the first time in his NFL career, per sources. Jordan will play a 16th NFL season and is said to be open to leaving New Orleans." Even at his advanced age, Jordan can provide plenty of value to a team who's either needing a quality edge rusher to complete an already loaded roster, or a young team in search of veteran leadership to help the development of their core. Mar 5, 2026

Is Cam Jordan Bound for Canton, Ohio?

Adam Hulse of ProFootballNetwork.com recently wrote on the ongoing contract negotiations between legendary defensive end Cam Jordan and the New Orleans Saints. Aside from the business side of things, Jordan was described in this way, " Cameron Jordan has spent all 15 seasons of his NFL career with the Saints and has played in more games than any other player in franchise history. He has been selected to the Pro Bowl eight times and also picked as an All-Pro three times, including one as a first-teamer, during his legendary run with the Saints."   With a resume like that, I ask, is Jordan a lock for Canton when his career is over? Feb 26, 2026

Trading QB Spencer Rattler May Not Be the Best Idea for the Saints

Even though the New Orleans Saints ultimately chose Tyler Shough over Spencer Rattler in their starting quarterback competition, Luke Johnson of NOLA.com expressed how Rattler's value to the Saints is much higher than any convenient draft capital they could acquire at the moment (seeing as though trading Rattler was seen by some as the most reasonable outcome of this situation).  He stated, "While Rattler does have some value as a potential trade chip, he also costs the Saints pennies against the dollar — he will count $1.2 million against the team’s 2026 salary cap and $1.3 million in 2027 — while providing a strong depth option at the most important position on the field," Johnson wrote. "He also knows coach Kellen Moore’s system. It would be hard to blame New Orleans for considering that more valuable than an early Day 3 pick."Feb 19, 2026

Saints Veteran Demario Davis on His Way To Free Agency?

Si.com reports that the New Orleans Saints might be soon facing the reality of losing eight-season Saints linebacker Demario Davis to free agency.  At 37 years old, Davis is a rare sight in NFL circles, seeing as though linebackers are normally retired or find themselves as bench support at this stage.  Yet, Davis set a career-high in tackles with 143, and doesn't sound like he's considering stopping just yet.  Davis said in January, "I'm coming back to the NFL. I'm coming back to the NFL. And I'm excited about that. I am super excited about that. I keep training all the way through the Super Bowl so my body feels great. I'm just excited. I'm just excited for the offseason. We'll finish up these games watching them through the Super Bowl and then get into my offseason regimen. ... How that plays out, we shall see."Feb 12, 2026

Franchise Legend Drew Brees Considered "Shoo-in" for Hall of Fame Tonight

The NFL honors will air tonight at 9:00 p.m. on both NBC and NFL Network.  One of the main focuses of the night will be the official announcement of the Hall of Fame class of 2026, which most likely includes legendary New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees.  Reports consider Brees a "shoo-in" for the honor, as he is currently one of the greatest statistical signal callers in the league's history, and certainly the best in Saints history.  Nola.com shares, "The official announcement of the class will be made during NFL Honors, but Brees is considered a shoo-in as the league’s second-leading all-time passer. If he earns induction, as expected, he’ll become the initial first-ballot Hall of Famer in franchise history.Feb 5, 2026

Could The Saints Look to Trade Running Back Alvin Kamara in 2026?

SI.com brought up the idea of the New Orleans Saint possibly moving on from a franchise pillar in running back Alvin Kamara ahead of 2026.  Even though Kamara wasn't keen on the idea last season, Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox stated that the team may be more open to the transaction due to the financial benefits.  Of Kamara, he said, "he missed the final six games of the season (2025) with a sprained MCL and is now entering the final year of his contract. With Kamara set to carry an $18.6 million cap hit in 2026, the Saints may be eager to move off of the 30-year-old (31 in July)." At the projected cost of of a 2026 sixth-round pick and a 2027 seventh-round pick, a number of running back-needy teams may check in on the multi-time All-Pro to see if he can transform their fortunes in 2026. Jan 29, 2026

Saints Re-Sign Safety Julian Blackmon

According to SI.com (Saints), the New Orleans Saints have re-signed safety Julian Blackmon to a one-year deal after missing the majority of the season.  The Indianapolis Colts drafted Blackmon in 2020 out of Utah, and the six-year veteran was brought in by the team last offseason after the departure of safety Tyrann Mathieu.  His best season came in 2023, when he had 88 total tackles, two fumble recoveries, four interceptions, eight passes defended and five run stuffs (all career highs). SB Nation's "Canal Street Chronicles" released a three-round mock draft for the New Orleans Saints.  They projected these draftees for the Saints in three months: - Round 1, Pick 8- Rueben Bain Jr., EDGE, Miami (FL) - Round 2, Pick 42- Germie Bernard, WR, Alabama - Round 3, Pick 73- Hezekiah Masses, CB, California The Saints enjoyed a four-game win streak to end the regular season, orchestrated by projected starting quarterback Tyler Shough.  What do you think about the picks? Tyler Shough Named Starting Quarterback for Saints in 2026

  According to ESPN's Katherine Terrell, the New Orleans Saints think highly enough of Tyler Shough to where they are committing to him as the starting quarterback for the 2026 season.  Coming in to relieve former starter Spencer Rattler, Shough appeared in 11 games and completed 67.6 percent of his throws for 2,384 yards and 10 touchdowns compared to six interceptions during his 2025 campaign, averaging 7.3 yards per attempt. He also found the end zone three times on the ground. His play was key in helping them win four games in a row to close the season. With a signal-caller in place, the Saints will be expected to explore free agency and the draft for impact players to super charge the team for 2026 and beyond. Jan 8, 2026

Saints Projected to Select Defensive Back Caleb Downs in 2026 NFL Draft

The New orleans are currently riding a four-game win streak. As such, they have fallen away from  top-five draft pick conversations and are now shifting gears toward the possibility of building around rookie quarterback Tyler Shough.  With this in mind, the Athletic put out a mock draft article in which they projected the New Orleans Saints to pick highly sought-after Buckeye defensive back Caleb Downs at eighth overall.  With the need at quarterback being handled (for now), the Saints can focus on replenishing a defense that has lost players like Marshon Lattimore and Marcus Williams, and who is planning for the eventual retirement of franchise stalwart Cameron Jordan.  A secondary with names like cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry and Downs combined could be a force in the NFC South. Jan 1, 2026

Saints Currently in Line for the Eighth Pick in the Draft, Is a Victory Truly a Win Here?

According to Tankathon.com, the New Orleans Saints (5-10) are currently in line to pick eighth in the 2026 NFL Draft. While that bodes well for their long-term future, in the immediate, there are still two games left to play before the offseason.  The Saints have won their last three contests in a row, eclipsing 20+ points in every game. On Sunday, they take on the Tennessee Titans (3-12), who will be picking fifth in the draft. With another win, New Orleans who secure their sixth win and most likely slide further backwards in the draft order.  There will always be those who are against having that conversation. Saints Looking For Three Wins in a Row Against New York Jets

The New Orleans Saints have just spent the last two weeks shocking the NFL world, defeating both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-7) and the Carolina Panthers (7-7) in back-to-back weeks to climb to 4-10. The developments also gave rookie quarterback Tyler Shough his second and third wins as a starter.  This Sunday, the Saints look for their third-straight win against a New York Jets team that will be picking top-10 in the NFL draft by this upcoming April. If that were to happen, it could set up New Orleans to possibly rip off a five-game win streak due to the weakness of their final two games after that. They face the Tennessee Titans in week 17, and the Atlanta Falcons in week 18.  If Shough leads his team to such an outcome to end the year, don't be surprised if he is tabbed as the starter in 2026.  Do you think Tyler Shough should be the predetermined starter for next season if the Saints finish at 7-10? Saints Looking To Sweep Their Division Foes In Carolina This Sunday

The Saints Wire just published an article that outlines Sunday's upcoming divisional matchup between the New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers from the Superdome.  The last time these two teams locked horns, the Saints came out on top on the road by a margin of 17-7.  The Saints Wire explains, "It was the first career victory for rookie quarterback Tyler Shough, but was won by a Saints defense that forced two turnovers and allowed only 175 total yards." Saints Linebacker Demario Davis Wins Team's Man Of The Year Award For Third Time In His Career

According to an article written by WXXV25.com, New Orleans Saints linebacker Demario Davis was named the team's winner of the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award for the third time in his career.  "The Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award is the league’s most prestigious honor, recognizing players who excel on-the-field and demonstrate a steadfast commitment to creating a positive impact beyond the game." expressed the article. "Davis and his wife, Tamela, started the Devoted Dreamers Foundation in 2013 to equip the next generation of leaders with the tools to be successful spiritually, mentally and physically. Essential to Davis’ community efforts in 2025 has been the launch of a leadership development program with The18th Ward, a local nonprofit that builds community through high-quality, affordable sports programming and workforce development for youth and families from every neighborhood from New Orleans." Injury Update: Saints Rookie Running Back Devin Neal Limited Again In Practice

According to Ross Jackson of WWL Louisiana, Saints rookie running back Devin neal was limited for his second practice in a row with a foot injury. This is not a positive development, as New Orleans already took a hit at the position when starter Alvin Kamara left last Sunday's game against the Falcons with an MCL sprain.  Neal got a season high's worth of reps (59) in the contest after Kamara left, rushing seven times for 18 yards and grabbing five of seven targets for 43 yards.  Now, he won't have the easiest road to an encore performance, which could open the door for some Audric Estime action on Sunday against the Dolphins.  Do you think the back-to-back limited practices mean anything for Neal? Saints Legendary Quarterback Drew Brees Calls Week 10 Performance of Quarterback Tyler Shough "Impressive"

In his second start for the Saints, rookie quarterback Tyler Shough had a "breakout" day, going 19/27 for 282 yards, two touchdowns and a 128.9 passer rating in a 17-7 victory against an NFC South foe in the Carolina Panthers.  Former Saints quarterback Drew Brees thought so too, saying as much in a recent interview with WWL Radio.   "Yeah, look, it was an impressive performance, and he's one of those guys who's only gonna get better each time he gets a chance to get on the field," Brees began. "That's the only problem, the only tough thing about the quarterback position is only one guy can play, and you need the experience and the repetition to develop confidence and all those things that come with it."   Do you think the Saints struck gold with Shough? Roster Move: Saints And Wide Receiver Brandin Cooks Agree To Part Ways

According to multiple reports, the New Orleans Saints wide receiver Brandin Cooks have agreed to part ways. The 12-year veteran now hits waivers in search of his sixth team i nhis career.  In 10 games played this season, Cooks has amassed 19 catches (25 targets) for 165 yards (8.7 avg) and zero touchdowns. It is currently unclear what type of role Cooks desires in his next destination, but presumably he would want to land somewhere that would allow him to maximize his opportunity to still contribute on a competitive team.  What are your thoughts on the Saints' decision to move on from Cooks?
