It's never too early for a mock draft...especially when you're 1-4.

The New Orleans Saints had another disappointing loss to the Minnesota Vikings, dropping their record to 1-4. The season isn’t over, but it’s heading south quick.

Despite this demoralizing start, the Saints are gearing up for a top pick in a loaded 2027 NFL Draft class. To give fans some hope, here’s a seven-round mock draft to help fix the franchise.

Round One- Leonard Moore: CB, Notre Dame

Leonard Moore is arguably the best cornerback prospect in the past 10 years. The six-foot-two, 197-pound junior combines stifling man coverage with fluidity and comfort in zone coverage. He’s an excellent athlete and uses his physicality to lock down receivers. He’s a bona fide star cornerback entering the NFL.

Moore could be the Saints’ top option in April. Their cornerback room is mediocre, highlighted by Kool-Aid McKinstry’s inconsistency and Quincy Riley’s inexperience. They must address the unit and should invest heavy draft capital in it.

Round Two- Kingston Lopa: S, Cal

Nobody knew Kingston Lopa before the season; however, he’s broken onto the national radar with his NFL-level frame, six-foot-five, 210 pounds, smooth movement skills, and ball skills. The former Oregon Duck already has five interceptions in 2026 and is a well-rounded prospect who thrives both in coverage and against the run.

The Saints’ secondary is thin after moving Jonas Sanker to STAR. Justin Reid and Julian Blackmon are both serviceable, but aren’t long-term solutions. As a result, adding Lopa early on day-two would be wise.

Round Three- LJ Martin: RB, BYU

LJ Martin fills a gaping hole on the Saints’ offense: a power back. Currently, they don’t have anyone, outside of maybe CJ Donaldson, who can run between the tackles and power through contact.

Fortunately for them, the six-foot-two, 225-pound wrecking ball welcomes contact and combines dominating power with quick footwork, making him an ideal workhorse back.

Round Four- AJ Holmes Jr.: DT, Texas Tech

AJ Holmes Jr. is a disruptive, three-down interior presence. The six-foot-three, 330-pound player pairs staggering strength with surprising quickness that helps consistently penetrate the backfield. He’s still raw as a pass rusher, with subpar hand usage, but he can develop into a dominant player in the NFL.

Round Five- Damon Wilson: EDGE, Miami

Damon Wilson II would complement Chase Young perfectly. The six-foot-four, 250-pound senior is still developing against the run, However, his otherworldly athleticism, lightning-quick first step, and repertoire of pass rush moves lets him wreak havoc against the quarterback.

Round Six- Devin McCuin: WR, Ohio State

Devin McCuin is an explosive receiver whose burst and IQ threaten opposing defenses. He won’t get the headlines, playing behind Jeremiah Smith, but the six-foot, 195-pound receiver will be a riser in April and an attractive option for the Saints.

And since the Saints don’t have a seventh rounder, these six players would be the haul.
