Will the Saints get their second win of the season?
The New Orleans Saints, a team with already a great amount of momentum coming into the season, are still riding the high of their first victory of the season. Last week, against a potential Super Bowl-winning team, the Baltimore Ravens, the Saints got a win. The best part about it was that the Saints didn't just win because of the Ravens' mistakes; New Orleans was able to do some really great things to control the game.
This win is arguably the best win from New Orleans since the Drew Brees era, and with hopes high, the Saints have a chance to double their current win total, going into Week 4 2-1. That does not mean it's going to be easy.
The Las Vegas Raiders, a team many expected to be in the lower half of the league, are 2-0 coming into this matchup and have been a very exciting team. On defense, even with young/inexperienced players sprinkled throughout, they are playing really well right now. Of course, with Maxx Crosby on the defensive line, the rest of the defense is going to play better, but this group as a whole has been creating turnovers, locking down receivers, and stopping the run.
Then, we have the Raiders offense. A group including Kirk Cousins, Ashton Jeanty, Brock Bowers, Tyler Linderbaum, and Klint Kubiak has the talent to do real damage against defenses. The group is so new, and with a new offensive scheme, there are still growing pains, and Cousins is not the QB he used to be, but the Saints will need to play as hard as they have in the first two weeks if they want to win this game.
Speaking of winning this game, let's get to why you may be here: the prediction. Last week, I had little to no hope that the Saints could win that game, and I was happily wrong. This week, I don't think it'll be easy by any means, but I believe the Saints will win 28-20. I can see the scoring being fairly high in this game given both defenses, but I wouldn't be shocked if we see a few turnovers, like a Cousins interception or a Saints fumble. But with Tyler Shough's play since the start of the second half against Detroit, I think the Saints win the QB battle, and Shough leads the Saints to yet another game-winning touchdown.
