Saints eye Washington's Denzel Boston for their No. 2 receiver spot. Boston wowed at his pro day, showcasing impressive athleticism and catching ability.

Add another wide receiver to the Saints' wish list in the upcoming 2026 NFL draft. Washington Huskies wide receiver Denzel Boston is reportedly under consideration for the Saints as they look to fill a need at their No. 2 wide receiver position.

Tony Pauline of Essentially Sports shared that the Saints plan to work out Boston as they weigh which draft eligible receivers will be the right fit for their 2026 squad. Pauline shared what Boston brings and what teams are interested in adding his skill set.

"Receiver Denzel Boston, who participated in position drills at the combine while also running the short shuttle and completing the vertical jump, improved on those marks. His vertical jump reached 37.5 inches on pro day, and he timed 4.2 seconds in the short shuttle.

Boston also timed a quick 6.8 seconds in the three-cone, but he chose not to run the 40. He looked great in position drills, and as described to me, Boston “put on a clinic” catching the ball.

Expected to land in the bottom third of Round 1, he has 10 official pre-draft visits with requests for another four that may not take place due to a tight schedule. Boston met with the Miami Dolphins at the workout, one day before they traded Jaylen Waddle, and he has workouts planned with the Buffalo Bills and New Orleans Saints."

The Saints are perhaps able to cast a wider net in their search for another wide receiver this offseason. Certainly, they don't need to find a No. 1 receiver with Chris Olave already in the fold. That position is covered. Nevertheless, they may well find a wide receiver of that quality, and it might even be Boston later than some would expect a No. 1 receiver to fall.

As college football has seen a proliferation of the passing game, the wide receiver position has become more skilled in recent seasons. It's become increasingly easier to find a quality wide receiver given the newfound abundance of the position as players improve across the country.

Boston may not end up a No. 1 receiver talent, but he does not face the pressure to become that in New Orleans. It's why the Saints may end up being a good fit with Olave ahead of Boston.

Given their draft order, the Saints will have plenty of options to improve at wide receiver in the first or second round. Look for Boston to be a strong consideration should he fall to the second round.
