The New Orleans Saints are not letting their most recent loss slide. They are keeping it fresh on their minds as a reminder of how far the team needs to go to improve.

New Orleans lost a high scoring game against the Falcons but most of it came from Atlanta. The Falcons won the game 45-24 in New Orleans.

Saints' defensive lineman Cam Jordan was not pleased with the result. He dropped his unfiltered thoughts on the loss, what the Saints' response should be and what the team needs to fix. Here's some of what Jordan had to say.

“Look at the film and see how we can get better because it can’t get worse than that (expletive). It’s just one of these games where we’ll have to break this film down tomorrow. There is no off day. If you truly love this (expletive), you’ll be there early in the morning; that was the message. Yeah, I doubt I’m sleeping much tonight; there are things that we have to do.”

Newsweek's Rowan Fisher-Shotton added his two cents on the Saints' loss and the strong words. Here's what Fisher-Shotton shared on the game.

"For as high-powered as the Saints’ offense has been with Shough, Chris Olave and breakout receiver Devaughn Vele, the defense has been a major problem.

New Orleans has already allowed the seventh-most total yards in the NFL (1,441), including the third-most rushing yards (591), while giving up the most points in the league (128). The defense has allowed 30 or more points in each of the Saints’ three losses, with Monday’s rout by the Falcons easily being the worst. The fact that two of those losses have come at home makes it even more concerning.

The Saints are playing in one of the most unpredictable divisions in the league, and there is still plenty of time to turn things around. But they can’t expect to win many more games if they continue bleeding points on defense."

Defense was one of the few things we thought we could count on with the Saints heading into the year. Albeit after a couple of key departures on the second and third level, the Saints are struggling badly to get stops.

There's work to do, but the issues are fixable. And while that fact is a source of frustration, it's also a reason why Jordan and others will be motivated to correct the failures of the first four weeks.
