Jordan understands the business side for the Saints

Even at age 37, Cam Jordan enjoyed an incredible season in 2025. Chase Young and Jordan were a formidable duo and both turned in ten plus sack seasons. The Saints added EDGE Tyree Wilson from Las Vegas during the draft and signed veteran Anfernee Simmons on Sunday.

But what about Jordan?

"I don't know," the pass rusher told Matthew Paras of The Times-Picayune at his charitable pickleball tournament. "There's nobody (the Saints acquired) who produced the way I did last year, so. My talent speaks for itself. And if things work out, phenomenal. I've always said I understand the business side to it, so I've never worried about it."

One thing is for sure, Jordan isn't done playing football and why should he be? The former Cal Bear definitely has much left in the tank and still believes New Orleans is home.

"The landscape is clearing up," Jordan said.

"You know, we just made a move," he added, before correcting himself. "They just made a move (for Jennings). I said 'we.' I keep saying 'we,' and I'm having to force myself to say black and gold, black and gold, even though it's always going to be a 'we.' So yeah, I think that again, they made plenty of great moves, and honestly, I hope things do align. And if not, I'll know what the landscape looks like for me in the next week."

Jordan's heart is still with New Orleans, but post-draft is where veteran free agents find landing spots after the draft fills in roster holes for teams. It's hard to bet against Jordan returning to the Saints. I'm willing to bet the two sides reach a contract agreement that isn't expensive but fair so Jordan can finish his career in New Orleans.

Wilson's acquisition from the Raiders could be a sign that New Orleans could move on from Jordan, but I don't see it that way. GM Mickey Loomis said his 2026 is a "one-year trial." Although Brandon Staley was able to help Young get to his first ten-sack season, it is unlikely Wilson will just discover something in New Orleans.

There are two reasons both sides should be motivated for a reunion. Jordan has spent his entire career in New Orleans after being drafted in 2011 and the Saints have a chance at a postseason run, which Jordan hasn't been part of for quite some time. The Saints are young and exciting. Jordan is their veteran leader.
